Just wondering if Bond doesn't give a damn about a rubber or does he think twice about sleeping with all these women without one.

I always wondered if Bond wore a condom when bedding all these woman.
Sure he does. At least with me.

Take a guess on what brand he uses? Q brand with enhanced protection and a self lubricating function. It also has a laser beam attached on the side just in case Bond get's interrupted and doesn't have time to grab his gunI always wondered if Bond wore a condom when bedding all these woman.

In Bond's world there are no STD's and he's gone before the woman has a chance to miss her period.
Maybe, but EON are really missing a trick here - golden opportunity for product placement.
I suppose we'll finally have our answer if SONY start making condoms.

There is in Fleming. Bond notes that Blofeld's nose (and brain) is rotting away from syfaliss (sp?).In Bond's world there are no STD's...

Actually, in The Moneypenny Diaries, you get some more intel on how the office (and Moneypenny especially, if memory serves) had to deal with Bond's mess, after a Shrubland nurse "missed her period", as you put it.
Zencat, I'm intrigued by your mention of "safe sex" in Gardner. Could you remember which novel it was? It may have been a rather early allusion to "safe sex", it it was in the 80s.
Another interesting point in the example you quoted is that it's the woman, and not Bond, who insists on using a condom.

It was Death is Forever. 1992. No all that early, and definitely during the height of the AIDS crisis (that's all over now, right?). Gardner even spoke about it in an interview at some point. I recall him saying we were in a time of "plague" and he felt it was just irresponsible to have Bond doing his thing without protection. I think there is more than one occurrence of "safe sex" in the book, but I most remember the one that is, yes, suggested by the girl.Zencat, I'm intrigued by your mention of "safe sex" in Gardner. About Gardner's sense of responsibilities, the only issue is that it seems a bit difficult to introduce condoms in a PG-13 sex scene...

If my life were on the line every day, I don't think I'd worry too much about using a condom.
Well, maybe your partner would, and besides, even if "your life is on the line every day" and you don't care if you live or die, you may care about your health, and, AIDS apart, avoiding the many other annoying and painful STD.
Really, one must admit that a suave secret agent with a clap is not that suave... or glamorous... or anything like sexy...

Now you make me think of the line "I've got a little itch, down there" in a new light... Yikes!

Bond has safe sex in one of the Gardner books. A point is made of it. "Yes, James. But it must be safe."
There is in Fleming. Bond notes that Blofeld's nose (and brain) is rotting away from syfaliss (sp?).In Bond's world there are no STD's...
it is ph, not f

Good to know cause, he does with everyone else, BUT me. LOLSure he does. At least with me.I always wondered if Bond wore a condom when bedding all these woman.
Anyways, more serious note. Can one really be looking for safe sex to be prominent in the Bond films? I mean most of the other movies out there that involve sex rarely introduce the condom or any other type of protection.

Yes, I agree. It's what I meant by "difficult to introduce in a PG13 scene".

I think the only movie which actually talks about using a condom (that I've seen) is Pretty Woman. But she was a hooker. Really, let's not introduce condoms into the Bond world. We all know the dangers of unprotected sex (unless you've gone to US public school in..... wait, that's getting close to being political), just like we know the dangers of any of the other mad stunts Bond does.Good to know cause, he does with everyone else, BUT me. I guess I'd be a pretty unpopular, disease-ridden secret agent then.

Good observation. Rightfully, it has been pointed that Blofeld seems like quite a late bloomer going from being a presumed virgin in Thunderball to developing symptoms of tertiary syphilis in a matter of months if his syphilitic nose in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is to be taken at face value so to speak. Nonetheless: in late stages syphilis may cause the syndrome Dementia Paralytica including symptoms like changes in personality, paranoia, psychosis, dementia, and – perhaps most interesting in regards to the portrait of Blofeld in You Only Live Twice – depression and megalomania. So, while Bond likes to think Blofeld’s apparent madness is down to him thwarting his plans one time too many, I agree Fleming likely had something more sophisticated than The Evil Genius Syndrome in mind.Bond notes that Blofeld's nose (and brain) is rotting away from syfaliss.
I think a fair guess would be that the answer to this question will vary dramatically depending on who is being asked. But that would be another topic....during the height of the AIDS crisis (that's all over now, right?).
Come to think of it, this whole post does not seem to be terribly on topic at all. My apologies.
