A scene I though was very funny is when Mathis is trying to talk on the phone and the taxi driver just wont't shut up, and he keeps saying "callate!"

Absolutely! The talkative taxi driver is a hoot.

I have only seen this once at the cinema, but have watched it on numerous occasions - if that makes sense.

I regret to say that there was also a lot of laughter during these scenes, such as when Mathis was thrown into the dumpster etc, laughing at the scenes which were meant to be serious.

The only people I've heard laugh during those scenes were teenagers; I could tell because of all the "Can you top this?" commentary after. Which tells me they were looking for their moment to perform, and that's the one they chose.

The eight times I've gone, most of the audience had more of a shocked "Oh, no!" reaction.

I remember when I was watching Quantum of Solace with my dad, and, when Bond throws Mathis in the dumpster, he said "Bond has no soul".
