I think QOS is possibly one of the best Bond films ever put on screen. The cinematography was borderline brilliant at times. The long wide angles for establishing shots, the dollys, and rich frames for dialogue and the up close and grittiness of the fight scenes are all about pace. A real fight would be hectic and chaotic and you wouldn't be able to fully visualize what was going on in your mind. Forster and the editor are trying to produce that chaos on screen and thats why you get the quick confusing cuts. Sometimes it's a bit jarring, but that's the point of it. The entire film was very artistic and is getting a bad-rap by a lot of people.
I personally feel the film is far superior to Casino Royale (which in itself was a classic) and that this will be a film that over time will get the recognition it deserves.

Agreed. The editing works for me, except for that one instance.Saw it a third time today-- Didn't see one problem with the editing, except maybe when Bond throws the hook onto the other boat and launches it. What did he do??
