The White Tuxedo

So, continuing this trend, if Craig's Bond is once again called upon to don a tuxedo, what would you all say to him wearing a white dinner jacket (or Connery Cream tm)?
Now, I realize that Pierce Brosnan's Bond was not only in a tuxedo each film, but also a black one every time. This undoubtedly got old.
So, time to change it up? Or is white out of style?
It could be a nice, trendsetting, return.

But if you ask me, the white dinner jacket's moment has passed.

I'm not sure Craig would be able to pull it off anyways. Connery barely pulled it off in DAF.
He wore a black tux. You must be reffering to the white suit and pink tie. Connery definetly pulled it off in GOLDFINGER.

He wore the White Dinner Jacket in the Casino when he ran into Plenty. I forgot about the bit in Goldfinger, yeah he pulled it off there.

Depends which scene we're talking about. With Plenty, in the casino, he's in white. See here, if you don't believe me.He wore a black tux.I'm not sure Craig would be able to pull it off anyways. Connery barely pulled it off in DAF.
You know what, I completely forgot. Nevermind then.

However, I prefer Craig to just wear suits.

So far, we have had Craig in a black tuxedo both films in a row. This is even after they had Bond in a tuxedo for nearly half of CR, they managed to put him into a situation where he would be in a tuxedo again in QOS (take that, those that believe QOS abandons the formula).
So, continuing this trend, if Craig's Bond is once again called upon to don a tuxedo, what would you all say to him wearing a white dinner jacket (or Connery Cream tm)?
Please, no. White dinner jackets are dreadfully common. Worn now only, I believe, by the husbands of barmaids who've won the lottery...

But, like the naval uniform, the actor has to deserve it first.

Yet, let's suppose he is invited to a retro-style party

As I recall, Roger Moore wore one in OCTOPUSSY. And he pulled it off, as well.

And with Craig? Well he's pretty blonde, I imagine the white would look pretty bad on him, just saying.

Good for Bond, bad for nowadays fashion.

I bet Tom Ford could pull it off for Craig.

I think that in Bond 23, if 007 was in the tropics or a former British empire, for maybe a daytime/afternoon event - like in A View To a Kill - it would work.
I own a white dinner jacket, and in the summer months, it's quite passible. Granted, it hasn't seen much use, but I like it all the same and always bring it along when venturing to the Bahamas or Mexico. You never know when it just might suit the occasion.
I think Craig would do one justice quite well. Bond's done both in Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Octopussy and A View To A Kill.
Time will tell I suppose, but I'm certainly not against it.

Ah yes good sir, but I was referring to the fact that in those films I mentioned, he sported both.

Living Bond ... so we don't have to!I guess it would depend on the locale. I thought it was very well in place in Octopussy. India, old school British colony, afternoon, backgammon - it just set the tone.

I think I’d love to see the same kind of approach taken with a white dinner jacket against some rich hues like a warm terra-cotta or mahogany, or against cooler colors that would sit well in the tropics like mark just suggested, ie. key-lime green or frosted blue.
(Do you like how I pulled those crayolas out of my just then? )
