Does anyone know the kind of rifle that Bond used to wound Kara Milovy in Bratislava, at the beginning of "THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS"? The name on the side of the rifle read "WALTHER".

Off the top of my head I think it's based on a Walther 2000 sniper rifle. A doogle search may/may not confirm this.

Yeah, it's a Walther WA2000. I think they are kinda rare.

Just checked Wikipedia. Only 176 were ever made. Very rare.

If you dont know what rifle that is, your dumb. Its a walther WA2000, probaly chambered for .300 whinchester. Its the only sniper walther makes (beside G22 target rifle).

If you are going to insult people at least be grammatically correct. :(

The rifle, from it's appearance is an early Walther WA2000. The later versions I've seen photos of lack the white inlay to the lettering on the side of the receiver.

Most were made in .300 Magnum; but some of the later ones were in .308 (a.k.a. 7.62 NATO).

As of my last investigation into this matter last year, a pristine one, if you can find it, will cost about $75,000 (50,844£)

A fine weapon no doubt, but for my work - here and there - I prefer the HK-91 in 7.62. Reliable, adaptable and, well, - "a whisper in the ear from this lady goes a LONG way".

No....

REALLY.

A 50X power Leopold night enhanced scope helps too. :(
