Recently, MGW said that he thinks the next film should come in 2 1/2 or 3 years from now, sometime in 2011. Now, I'm all for that, think that the gap we just had between CR and QoS was actually too short. But if they go for 2011, that means that we probably wouldn't see a film in 2012, which I think is extremely important, seeing as it's the 50th anniversary of Dr. No, and that October 5 (the exact date that DN opened) is a Friday. So, will they delay Bond 23 till then to take advantage or are they gonna do what CR did and have it come out whenever instead of looking at an important Bond date (I still think 2007 would have been better- 45th anniversary and the year 007). Or, could they do what the did with QoS, and rush it out ASAP in a year and a half (if they go with summer 2011 for Bond 23).
there is the possiblity MGW was saying that just to cover his butt and that his plans are Bond 23 coming out in 2010 and Bond 24 coming out in 2012

Same thought here. MO is get the actor for three films with an option for a fourth. Do the first three with 2 year gaps. Now if three years before 23 means a better film, I'd go for that.

I would have to agree with you on that one. I would wait three years an absolutely amazing bond film.

If the choice is only between 2011 or 2012 - screw the anniversary, give me the sooner release.
My sentiments exactly. Don't forget what happened with the 40th anniversary.

I think if they did do that, Bond 24 wouldn't be as good as if they waited. I mean trying to finish a film in a year might be pretty difficult. They have to and will make a back to back film, Bond 23 in summer 2011 and Bond 24 in winter 2012.

Shooting generally takes 6 months. If they can achieve to make a decent story in a full year which is 2009, I cannot see any reason that they cant finish filming in 1,5 years.

There are other ways to celebrate 50 years of Bond, yet another DVD re-release, retrospective documentaries etc. we don't need an actual film.
