When I first heard the title track by Jack White and Alicia Keys I was not too happy. I then changed my "tune" tonight after seeing the midnight screening of the film at my local cinema. The song fit the titles perfectly and the way it was re-edited to fit the 3 minute sequence was a lot more appealing than the single on its own. Any thoughts?

Ok, is that the song and the titles or both? I do admit although the sequence was fresh and innovative, I want to see what other ideas Danny Kleinman can come up with for the next film.

song and title sequence were crap. i did like the look of the named credits. i liked the graphics in the movie but kleinman was much better at the title sequence.

Hearing this dreadful song over the titles was still dreadful. Wasn't too impressed with the sequence either.

All I can remember was seeing this naked female in the "fetal position" leaning forward as if she was about to give birth. Bond's bullet flies around haphazardly as if it's a sperm. :(

I have always taken a considered approach to all the 'new' aspects of an upcoming Bond film.

When the title is announced, I always say, "wait until it has been wrapped in fonts, graphics and has become an established part of the Bond canon for final acceptance." And I find I usually like it.

When the song is released, same with the titles and graphics.

Same with everything, "wait until it is part of the whole package."

So it was like this for YKMN and CR, didn't really like the song by itself, but it came to life with the titles. For AWTD, I was fully expecting it to be the same - IF the titles had been created by Kleinman.

The song was bad upon release, it was Worse with the titles. The whole three minute span couldn't go quickly enough - just awful. Both song and titles.

Oh well, onwards and forwards.

I loved the beginning of the song... but once the chorus chimes in, I couldn't help be wince. The graphics were incredible, but the song wasn't great. That was THE only thing in QoS that I absolutely hated. :(

I thought the font was the worst, that and the sheer amount of grain in this sequence. The rest of the movie looks fine grained and smooth, so why does this title sequences look like SVHS transfered to S16mm? It made the attempted "updating" of this franchise element even more unsuccessful.

Like I said though, I really did appreciate the familiarity of Kleinman's font when it was missing in the QOS titles. I didn't care so much for the CR title sequence, which felt like animation for an on-line Poker website, but the QOS titles just felt like they were trying to target the kids with something in line with the Ocean's movies or that intro to the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Like the Bourne aping, it just felt like they were ashamed to make a Bond film.

I don't care for the titles design at all - but I have really warmed to the song.

I agree. With the title seq.(which I really liked -- very 70's retro and a nice follow on from the CR titles) the song works very well indeed. On its own, it's not so hot, but it does work in the context of the film.

Because it's meant to be like the song and the sand in the title sequence: i might not meant to be pretty, but they were aiming for something gritty all along.

Nah, this just reeked of bad rendering (no doubt due to time). It wasn't even consistent within the title sequence. Very poor, and again, like the font, something you took for granted during the Kleinman/Framestore years (which they better return to asap).

I have to admit I was wrong when I first heard the song and the soundtrack, I was not impressed. But after seeing an advanced screening of QOS last night, the music and the song artistically fits perfectly with the characters in the film. Please accept my apology Mr. Forster, Mr. Arnold and Mr. White. Quantum is awesome.

It's too bad it was cut to hell for the titles.

I already liked the song, but it did sound even better with the titles, although it's a shame it was cut up so much. My only gripe with the titles is that not as much was going on as there was in the CR titles. Other than that, though, they looked spectacular (best yet in that regard) and are my second favorite overall, after CR, since the 60s.

Sitting in the cinema, hearing the middle part of the song where Jack White and Alicia Keys screech 'whoah, woah woah!' was one the most cringe inducing moments at the movies for me this year. I really have a disliking for that song. Someone mention already the grainy texture to the title sequence. I absolutely agree, there was something very distracting about them.

I know, I get, Bond is walking in the desert. There is sand in the desert, hence the graininess, but it didn't make for a sequence that was pleasurable to the eyes.

I love the music in the song, the intro is super awesome, and the "bridge" of the song are both awesome... not to keen on the chorus but other than that its the best song since a-ha's TLD.

I had a theory where I'd only like that song in the context of the titles, and I was right. I thought the title sequence itself was decent, but nothing compared to CR's. The song itself, however, works MUCH better when edited down like that, the album version just draaaaags and draaaaags, and that's part of why I don't like it. It's still not my favorite Bond theme (not sure what is, actually...maybe "Nobody Does It Better"?) but when it's been pared down to fit the title sequence I find it much easier to listen to.

It's true: while the song and the pictures of the TS are bad on their own, they profit of each other.
A+ is exaggerated, though. It's still a rather weak TS IMO.

The only thing I liked was the when Bond fires the bullet in the beggining. Everything else was crap! I wish we had Kleinman back!
