Out of all Bondmovies "Tomorrow Never Dies" was the only one where Bond is not losing his consciousness.
I don't remeber a scene in QOS where Bond is unconscious. So that makes it only the 2nd movie out of 22, where Bond is awake all through the film.

There's a deliberate point being made in QoS that, in fact, I missed the first time around - he can't sleep. At all. Part of the momentum is because of this. M asks about it early on, Mathis catches him mid-movie, and Camille asks if he'll be able to sleep now at the end. He works through the nights, never sleeps when checked into a hotel or while travelling.

It's a great little theme, subtly laid in. And yeah, being knocked out would have somewhat got in the way of that! :(

Ah! Thanks sorking, I had missed this "can't sleep" thing too, but I think you're right about that. I'll pay more attention on the second viewing :) Very interesting!

Wait - he sleeped with Fields, didn't he? So he was getting some rest after all. :(

When he was in the room the last thing that was happening was anyone getting sleep....maybe Fields took a nap after...not him

WAIT! HE DID get unconcious...

After the freefalling, he opens the parachute and quickly falls into the sinkhole. There he (and probably Camille) loses conciousness

It's a subtle nod to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Are you talking about the scene where Greene rips the heart out of the Indian boy?

No, I mean the part where Greene serves llama genitals for dinner. :)

But seriously, if memory serves me correctly, Indy gets maybe one chance to rest in all of ToD, and even then it's dubious whether Willie and her lovely voice let him sleep a wink. :)

However, I think the more apt QoS/Indy comparison is this, where Indy = QoS and the man in black = what many of these reviewers obviously wanted QoS to be. :(

I think you might be right. It certainly did look like Bond lost consciousness.

As General Orlov would have put it: "That would be the most plausible explanation" :(
