Casino Royale:

In the eco hotel, Camille is reminded of the house fire of when she was a child, and she is sitting weeping in the corner, surrounded by fire. Bond hugs her and Bond starts to eye up the gas cannister - he would blow a hole in the wall and that would be their way out.

Bond is unsure, and a terrified Camille manages to say... "Take a deep breath, you only have one shot... make it count!". It really reminded me of a violent take on the shower scene.

I honestly felt BOND was going to shoot CAMILLE in the head in that scene - to put her out of her misery. Yes, I'm a sick puppy...

Me too.

Everyone did, that's what we were lead to

The car chase at the begining, when they go off the road, where there are cranes and stuff, like Doctor No.

Camille is in fact melina, as mentioned.

The shot of Craig waiting in Yusef's house, very similar to CR pts, to -sort of- close the circle. Just like the camille/shower scene.

She was sea-sick/she 's just dead from TB (not a homage, but an obvious try to imitate the coolness).

The bad effect during the parachute, was that a homage to DAD? :(

The rooftop chase, was it the cut scene from OHMSS?

Universal exports, and Ken Adamesque design

Universal Exports is used for Bond's cover? I'm a Yank so I haven't seen the film yet.

It is, yes. Don't remember exactly how it's mentioned, I think Bond gives Elvis his business card, and you can see it.

Yep, that's correct. I don't think it's ever vocalised but the inference is there.

Diamonds Are Forever.

"Mr. Bond. My name is Fields."
"Of course you are!"

Obvious reference to...

"Hi, I'm Plenty!"
"But, of course you are!"

The same thing occurred to me. Bond driving under the crane felt just like Dr.No to me.

The rooftop chase, was it the cut scene from OHMSS?

Everyone keeps saying they copying Bourne, but I thought the inspiration was the scene cut from OHMSS (Bond realises someone is a double agent and gives chase over rooftops, etc).

Apart from the ones already mentioned I thought the fight in the lift was very Diamonds are Forever.

Leaving the guy dead in the toilet was a bit GoldenEye.

I also have to agree with the poster who suggested Camille picking Bond up in a beatle was very much like For Your Eyes Only even if it was a different make of car.

Camille's ingratitude/indignation at being rescued during the boat chase reminded me of Bond and Pam's speedboat bickering during Licence to Kill or Natalya kicking Bond in the shin in Goldeneye after he's helped them escape

-The Title Sequence made a brief nod to both the titles for YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE and GOLDENEYE.

-Bond and Camille walking in the dessert in their formal clothing was very much like Bond and XXX in the dessert in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.

-Bond arguing with Camille in the speed boat reminds me of Bond and Pam Bouvier in LICENCE TO KILL as they escaped from the Barrel Head Bar.

-The Front of the Bolivian Hotel looked simular to the casino in Ithmus City in LICENCE TO KILL.

I'm not sure it's a conscious homage, but Bond cradling Mathis as he died put me strongly in mind of the way Bond lingers briefly over Kerim Bey's body and gives his shoulder a little squeeze in FRWL.

Yes I enjoyed the return of this particular Bond phrase, though I thinks she says "My name is Fields, and I work for the consulate" etc. Rog also uses it in AVTAK - "I'm Jenny Flex/ Of course you are!"

Didn't Dominick Greene say to transfer funds from their Transiberian Account? (Maybe a reference to The Transiberian Pipeline, used in TLD)

I immediately thought of Moore's Bond sending Sandor off the building in TSWLM when Craig's Bond did nearly the same.

The covername of "R. Sterling" refers to THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.

I freaked out when I saw that...that was for true Bond fans.

Probably not an intentional homage, but when the CIA Agent (Beam?) is on the plane with Greene and they're discussing Greene's pipeline in Bolivia, he asks him "You didn't find diamonds, did ya?", it immediately made me think of Graves and DAD :(

There was one moment during the title sequence, which I thought was great, that show some sort of circular "eye like" figure, just like in the titles of You Only Live Twice.. very cool!

I almost forgot, when Bond snaps the pictures of the QUANTUM members and they are automatically found in the MI6 database. A simular scene was in GOLDENEYE when Bond took Xenia's picture.

I thought it would be fun to list some homages you saw in Quantum of Solace.

The Spy Who Loved Me:

Now THIS was brilliant, during the opera scene Bond and the guard are fighting on the roof, the guard grabs onto Bonds jacket as he is about to fall off the roof. Of course, you know what Bond did.... totally the same thing that Bond did in The Spy Who Loved Me. It's was totally amazing. :(

I caught this one too. Needless to say I was pretty proud of myself but I couldn't recall which movie it came from.

"What a helpful chap."

No more than Fleming! :(

He had Bond ready to roll Solitaire under him in the keelhauling scene to drown her so she wouldn't have to endure sharks eating her flesh-stripped self alive.

Whoa, you're not alone! I actually thought that was his original intent, to kill her so that she wouldn't suffer (and then possibly himself). But then only at the last second did he see the gas cannister. Did I misinterpret that?

I'm sure several of these are merely coincidental, however I feel that Bond waiting in the shadows is certainly intended to represent a full circle from the pre-titles of CASINO ROYALE.

Yes, I wondered about that ever since I saw that shot in the trailer. Seeing where it was placed in the movie, it is interesting. If intentional, a nice way to end the movie on the idea that the story arc is complete, and he is ready to be a more familiar Bond from here onward (also reinforced by the gunbarrel at the end).

The plane dogfight was very similar to the Octopussy and TND pre-titles sequences.

Falling out the back of the plane was exactly like Moonraker, TLD and DAD, and Bond and Camille free-falling, harks back to the freefalling in Goldeneye, TND and twice in DAD!

DAD - The climactic battle is very similar to Bond vs Graves interposed with Jinx vs Frost with their personal battles happening at exactly the same time while all around them starts to explode.

There's also a Latin American LTK feel to the whole thing, with Bond again working outside of his Licence to Kill. Plus, another traitor in M16, following on from Trevelyan, Frost and Vesper.

And don’t forget, right after that scene Bond tells the airline lady to tell whoever calls that he was going to Cairo.
