Ta, mate.See where you are coming from
Exactly. There's a few quick edits scenes in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and as you say, you can see what's going on. It also enhanced Bond's fighting skills (probably after his Ninja training in You Only Live Twice). And I agree that some of the action scenes(Boat/car chases), because they are quick and snappy, don't give you the full benefit. Sometimes too frantic, too close. Some of my favourite Bond action scenes are where you can see the scope of the action, the PTS fight on the beach in OHMSS is quick and snappy, but you get to savour the uppercuts, bond chucking the guy in the net etc.
I agree 100%. For me, it was the only scene where I felt some tension. Being 6'4'', I do not like heights (I know Richard Kiel would probably feel the same) and it WAS very well done. The quick edits made sense because of the close proximity both characters were facing. Nearly falling off of the roof and the tiles breaking and sliding off one would jerk around trying to not fall off. This scene gave us a 'hands-on' (or more appropriately a weak foothold) tense scene until the CGI kicked in, and the absurdities were back again. Poor Danny must have worked hard on those ropes, but we didn't really see him doing any "business". It was cut so fast, we couldn't see if it was really him or the stuntman.I have to say on the other hand the rooftop chase was better. I actually enjoyed that one. But I take your point that Craig is doing the stuff himself, but it may as well be a double some of the time.
Yeah. That was bold about the Musical themes, but also see, the halfway house doesn't always work. Eon probably don't want to get rid of the "Bond Sound" Its must be difficult for them, which stuff do they keep from past movies, and which do they chuck(maybe to include or introduce later)
It played well in Casino Royale as like a reminder that this was a Bond film. But in Quantum of Solace it's all over the place, and when the gunbarrel kicks in, in comes more adsurdities. He walks far too fast almost as if he's in need of my Pierce Brosnan (because I'm worth it) pile cream.I for one, would never like to have the James Bond theme totally absent from the movie, its cinematic gold as far as theme tunes go for me. Having it play at the end of CR was a great move by them.
Just right click and download it, my friend.I really, really like that smiley gunbarrel.
