After a shaky start in which the film threatens to turn into the Bond Protocol - the influence of the Jason Bourne films is hugely evident as we are assaulted by three consecutive fight and chase scenes which, despite their technical accomplishments, do little to draw the viewer in...
Another review, another Bourne reference.
Uh-oh, some people are going to be pissed at that.

But as well as Craig and Amalric there are plenty of good things, notably a couple of classic Bond set design moments.
Overall there is plenty to keep Bond fans buzzing.

You should not quote only the part you need to make your point..and it goes on: things settle down considerably to make this a thoroughly enjoyable and often very engaging piece...even: So much so that a little bit more would not have gone amiss. So - we do get time to relax.

And what point was I trying to make? I wasn't knocking the review. I simply said that the Bourne reference was going to annoy some people.

Maybe its a personal thing, that I just don´t like it, when quotes are picked out of context to create an overall negative impression on something. Appearently its obvious, that everybody sees Bourne elements here and that´s it. If that´s good or bad - I don´t know. Only here, everybody seems to see it as a bad thing and it has been repeated over and over and should come to a stop. The Bourne compariosn willhaunt this film and better people get used to it now.

Reading about these Bourne comparisons isn't all that surprising then.

I actually like when they drop Bourne references like that without developing the argument. It's a dead giveaway that they're either very lazy reviewers or just don't have a deep knowledge of films beyond the last few years.Another review, another Bourne reference.
Uh-oh, some people are going to be pissed at that.

what with the clip of Bond landing on a boa while riding a motorcycle.
I heard about that...Bond must be avenging the death of Carter too.

I dunno, I get the feeling QOS simply pares down Campbell's melodramatic flourishes for Forster's pointed corners - if true then I'd welcome that, love CR but a sharper Bond/Bond film along similar lines sounds just the ticket, and with more action of course.
