With all of these negative reviews from Quantum of Solace being chucked around...I was wondering, since CASINO ROYALE is one of the best Bond films int he franchises history I was wondering if anyone could recall any negative reviews from the press concerning the movie?

It would be rather interesting to see how much the press ripped it to pieces.

It may probably ease those who are beginning to worry about Quantum of Solace aswell.

I recall reading quite a few reviews back then that were unkind. They called Craig a cold fish, and thinking the free running sequence was out of Hong Kong martial arts films. Those are the only ones I can remember. I think I'd only read one good review back then.

I remember people calling Craig Yoda or something like that and that he had no face expressions and a dull voice.

Really? Wow! If that's the case, Quantum Of Solace is gonna be a masterpiece!

I think you've got to ask yourself is are the reviewer's Bond fans. Would they watch any of the films we know and love and give them a good review?

Yea. Reviews that Craig was sexually ineffective. A gay. No nudes in the Titles. Movie was too long and the card game was a total bore. That Craig was not suave as sexy. That it wasn't fun.

I seem to remember the first AICN review was lackluster. From what I can remember of it, nothing I eventually saw in the film suggested it was a fake.

There are all the negative reviews that hit the internet.

Don't forget, many of the positive reviews also had a number of criticisms. CR's 94% score on RottenTomatoes included mildly positive ratings of, say, 3/5. QoS will probably have even more of those, although that itself says nothing about how much you or any other individual will enjoy it. Many people will like it better.

Turns out it wasn't the first review on the site. Definitely not a fake though.

Not overly negative though, he basically seems to admire it without finding it quite his cup of tea.

Most of the reviews that people referring to Craig looking like Yoda, sexually innefective etc were mostly fanboy reviews, not critic reviews. THe reviews for CR were mostly positive with the long running time being the #1 problem most critics had with the movie. There were the poorer reviews here and there (every movie gets some bad reviews)but the majority were positive.

Of all the reviews I have read on QoS, none have yet to say it was A BAD MOVIE. Many say it has problems, does not live up to expctations from CR etc, but no dead out BAD reviews. Historically Bond movies usually get mixed reviews from the press (CR the big exception)and QoS seems to be in the same situation.

My local english newspaper was mainly positive (3 out of 4 stars) with the small complaint about the 'lengthy poker scene'
