Well these pics settled my internal debate whether to purchase a Wii or X-Box...its gonna definitely be X-Box 360... These Wii pics look terrible, quality wise..sure they're fine if the game was out on Nintendo 64 or Gamecube, but these are unacceptable for a next Gen console...

The Wii is not a next generation console. Only PS3 and Xbox 360 have that mantle.

The Wii is not a next generation console. Only PS3 and Xbox 360 have that mantle.

The Wii is a current gen console, just like the PS3 and 360. Console generations are not determined by the console's specifications. Yes the Wii has technology closer to what was standard last generation, but it is still classified as being part of the current generation.

As for the Wii as a gaming platform, it's pretty well known that anything multiplatform on Wii will end up . The Wii is a unique platform and to get the most out of it developers need to build games for it from the ground up. The Wii has some great games built exclusively for the platform, but when a game comes out for every platform under the sun it's a safe bet it will be poorest version will be on the Wii. The "water" in those Wii shots are laughably bad.

It's all about the control system. Graphics are nothing without gameplay, and gameplay trumps graphics every time. If they manage to make the Wii version feel immersive - if you start to feel like Bond as you point your remote like a Walther and duck behind cover - it'll be a successful game regardless of the visuals.

Not saying it's likely to be that great, just saying 'graphics' are entirely the wrong thing to judge the Wii on.

I have a Wii and the only good games are Zelda Twilight Princess and Smash Brawl.. and Metroid 3. This is going to be somewhat nice ONLY because of the controls, but graphically will suck horribly.

Actually yes Zelda Twilight Princess is on the few games I really want and I know they did a GameCube version of it before they stopped making GameCube games.. So I'll just have to check my local GameCrazy stores for it..

These aren't the final graphics on the Wii, this is just a test version that has been leaked.

I do remember reading a journalist saying "one of the most graphically superior games on the Wii" or something to that effect.
