Activision game fuses together what gamers love with the cinematic elements of Bond

Tons of new footage shows off how 007 keeps his cool in the heat of battle. :(

Apparently the train sequence in Casino Royale was orginally an action sequence.

I love the pouring rain in the levels. Rain in Bond is a rare thing. It looks brilliant and it's dramatic, there should be more of it. Craig in the Miami black jacket - fantastic. Totally gave that guy a beating, the takedowns are very much like Craig. This train scene, I like it. A nice hint to GoldenEye 007, and I see Bond uses a shotgun in there.

And I also add, it is nice to see this guy speak with so much enthusiasm about the game. They must know they have a good one on their hands.

I cannot wait to play this game. It looks fantastic.

One thing I have a problem with is, Arlington Beech was the guy Bond was sent to replace in the Casino, not Sandy Bliss, which was Bonds alias in Madagascar.

Yes, I observed this as well. Oh well. Apparently you have to hunt him and his rogue men down, too.

Omigosh!

This game looks sweet. Much better than I was anticipating.

Also... the music sounds very official. Could it be that it have been taken from the movie directly. Anyway, it sound sweet and the game looks cool.

Blonde Bond approves :(

But also is kinda upset that he wont get to play it until 11th day of next month. He's also kinda okay with that, since now he gets to see the movie before the game. He, also, likes to talk in 3rd person. What a weird chap that Blonde Bond is.

Ah, I've been looking forward to this game since the beginning. Possibly more than the film itself. A few minor doubts initially, but fully behind it. I'm glad you're officially on the bandwagon now, though.

The Bliss/Beech thing is fine. In the film, Bond poses as Beech, Beech being a replacement for Bliss. nothing has been changed. Bond says he is "Arlington Beech, professional gambler" to Vesper, but Le Chiffre asks him "You must be Mr. Blisses (?) replacement Mr. Beech. Or is it Bond, I'm a little confused?"

Nice to see some elaboration on what the mysterious scene cut from the film was. I was worried it would be a shoehorned in action scene, like those found in FRWL, that would hurt the games credibility. I'm a little concerned that they just made him a drug dealer and gave him a bunch of cannon fodder henchmen, but I'll give it a shot.

Otherwise, loving those rain effects and takedown animations! And that big shotgun looks killer (in every possible way). Less than a month to go!

Yes, I'm all arms in the waggie. But Alpha Protocol is still my most anticipated spy game in the very near future.

What I don't approve, is that you, my lad, are possibly awaiting this game more than the movie. Blasphemy!

To be fair, This game is as exciting as the movie, it's the first Bond game in, what?.... 3 years. I wanna see Activisions take on it. :(

The music was good. Had sort of a Connery era hint to it. Young sounded really excited about the game & the things they did with it. Seems like that type of enthusiasm has been missing for a long time on the world of Bond gaming. Glad to see it's back.

The music at the beginning is from From Russia With Love.

Exactly, it is a positive face for the game.

Ah so the train portion is the deleted scene. Damn, no cricket match then. Still, getting behind the wheel of the bulldozer looks pretty awesome! Very excited, I hope we get a demo on the 360 soon.

No, Bliss is correct. In the script it was "Sandy Bizet" and John Bliss was supposed to be the player on the train that Bond replaces. It's unknown if the scene was actually shot but Con O'Neil was cast in the role. It was quick scene where Bond confronted Bliss while he's watching DVD's of the other players. He calls his security people to remove Bond but the security turn out to be Mi6 who knock out Bliss and cart him away instead.

I'm thinking that the bulldozer sequence may be restricted 'on rails', and not free to drive around at the player's discretion.

Ah, that's right. Bond was Bliss' replacement, and his cover was meant to be Beech, but he dispensed of the cover. Cool, it all makes sense then. Thank goodness they didn't make a mistake. All these cover names, Bliss, Beech, Bizet, etc - one is sure to get confused!

You know wgat worries me- On the vid where Bond shoots down through the roof of the train, he hits a guy in the head/neck 4-5 times, and the guys... stumbles backwards a bit. Bond then has to shoot him AGAIN to put him down.

Unrealsitic hit detection will cripple this game in an instant. I do not want bullet impacts like in FRWL. I'm pretty worried now...

I was thinking the exact same thing. I remember playing the Bourne Conspiracy and I know that was one of the things I hate about it. They forced you to shoot a guy 12 times to kill him. The ploy of doing this though, it forced the player to run up to him hand beat the living daylights out of him instead of shooting. It was very annoying. Now, I have a little more faith for this game because Bourne was very 1 dimensional. I'm still going to buy the game though. :(

To be fair, throughout the rest of the vid the hit detection looks fine, but wht would it do it for that bit?

I'll but the game even if I know it'll be pants, though. I'm one of those awful gamers who will buy a crap game because of the license. I bought EON, FRWL and Rogue Agent even though they were all awful. I even knew FRWL would be awful because it used the EON engine, but there I was on launch day all the same.

I'm really hopeful for this though. It'll be a bitter disappointment if it sucks like the rest.
