The UK promotion of the new Avon fragrance 'Bond Girl' includes a compact mirror with the gun barrel logo, a makeup bag with 007/gun barrel logo, and a lipstick (without a gun barrel logo!).

I believe the USA promotion has a free movie ticket.

The product is not going to be in the catalogue until some time in October, so most deliveries will be towards the end of October.

I get mine on Monday :( If anyone is interested, I can take photos when I get them and put them up.

My Avon lady friend has ordered spare promotional packages, and I thought maybe some people would like them from a purely collecting perspective, especially as this doesn't seem to be available in the States. She is happy to post these wherever required.

The perfume costs £16 (the promotion things are freebies). Postage to the USA will probably be around £6-£7.

If anyone is interested, please PM or email me and I will contact her to arrange the details.

I think this promotion is awesome. I wish I was a girl just to use this.. or they can, of course, make one for men :(

Hope we get this in Mexico though.

I'm totally buying that. The bottle itself is beautiful, which is like 76% of the reason I buy any fragrance.

Thanks Ravenstone. I'd love to see pics when you have them as there are more than a few Bond girls in my life that might appreciate it.

I'm far more shallow than that. I've bought it purely for the freebies! :(

I've asked her for details of how she'd want paying (paypal or cheque etc) and what she wants to know, so I should have more information soon if anyone is interested.

I'll also give a description of the scent when it arrives. I tend to like musks - Body Shop Japanese Musk, Cinnamon Musk - Ysatis, Opium, Samsara. I don't like florals. So I'll give a description based on what it reminds me of, and whether I like it!

Wow, that's a good promotion in the UK with all those extras. Why don't we get that here in the US. Gr.

I agree with you, there's rarely a promotion like that here in Mexico, I even doubt we get the QOS Coca Cola bottle :(

Right - as promised - a description (at least until I get some photos uploaded)

The bottle is very nice. The box is also very nice. Tasteful.

The cosmetic bag is very small, about big enough for a compact, lipstick and a couple of small items. It's not long enough for, say, your typical bottle of mascara or your kohl pencil. The logo is very tasteful though. Black, self-patterned, small logos of the gun barrel and 'Bond Girl 007'.

The mirror is about the size of your average face powder compact, but it is not a compact, i.e. it does not have a cover. It is just a round mirror with the gun barrel on the back. The metal has a kind of sheen to it, though. It's not plain brushed aluminium look. It may not show up on photos. It's got a sort of iridescence to it.

The free lipstick is one of Avon's Pro To Go lipsticks (the one they market by saying it is opened one-handed) in Provocative Plum. It's not as dark as it sounds. I tend to like quite dark purples and plums for lipsticks, and this is more or less what I'd call a dark pink lip gloss. Not really a full coverage lipstick. But then I'm not a big fan of Avon lipsticks. I find them too greasy and they don't last five minutes.

Now. The important thing. The fragrance itself. It's not as easy to describe as I thought it might be. After conferring with my associates at work, we decided the best description is this :-

It's a sandalwood type base - not as heavy as a musk - with hints of jasmine and/or orange. It's described as 'floral', but it isn't really what I or anyone else would call floral. It's not Anais Anais. It's a delicate jasmine or orange, or possibly both, but no trace of citrus. It's not what I'd call a 'clean fresh scent', but more a smoky subtle one.

I hope that helps.

My prediction that it wouldn't last past the PTS is only slightly out. Although the initial smell is a little strong (not overpowering though) it soon settles down, and I felt a reapplication was necessary after about three hours. So it makes it to the end credits, which is more than can be said for some Bond Girls. :(

Thanks for the great review, Ravenstone. Is this for sale at local drug stores yet?

Nope. Only available from Avon, and it's not out officially until the next catalogue, which I'm told is 3 weeks away, and then another 3 weeks for the order to arrive. That's the UK, though. I don't know what it's like in USA.

My friend had 3 spare packages, but they seem to have all been earmarked by people.
