WARNING: CONTAINS VERY MANY SPOILERS

Last Thursday took place in France Activision the exclusive presentation of the game inspired two films in the saga James Bond.

The Journalist - Marketing Consultant of our site, Kevin Collette, was among the lucky few invited to test some levels of play on Xbox ...... First impressions ...More than positive!

Since the acquisition by Activision of the James Bond license - previously in the hands of Electronics Arts until 2002 and funny remake of "Good From Russia, was expected to turn the new owner ...

Expectation filled, and rather a deus times, with this Pétarade QofS combining levels "well Bourrin" (dixit the kind attached Press Activision himself) and others a bit more strategic.

The demo shown back in August, I could not see the generic Thursday.

Place directly on the screen launch decorated with the famous photo of the 007-gunner rifle in hand, with basically a union jack move where blue silhouettes and faces (including that of Eva Green !)... Very nice ...

Note: original music (apparently not the partition of David Arnold for the film, so) with a slow James Bond theme returning motto

The first level that we were testing begins exactly ... Two minutes after the end of Casino Royale," as emphasized by Michael G. Wilson in the conference to launch production in January last on 007 thus dragging Mr White to his villa (detail: no trace of blood on it. Like all victims of the game, injuries are 'clean' after been imposed - in order to comply with the anti-violence legislation in force for video games).

But just having set foot on the stairs leading to the entrance of the house, this is a band of ugly jojos landed away with not too peaceful intentions - and they are even accompanied by a helicopter flanked d a formidable shooter ...

One solution: escape in the gardens surrounding the house and try to get one to one every awful to try to reach the building through greenhouses surrounding ... We even entitled to shoot on a them'up pier flanked by two outboard.

On a screen recalling therefore the level of training of the labyrinthine garden SPECTRUM Good for the game From Russia with EA, it was all the time to become familiar with the controls - simple - Retail practice: you can even draw remaining hideout behind a wall and lifting the arms fair, practical!

In moving towards the interior of the villa (where you must retrieve a briefcase full of secret documents belonging to Mr. White) it will also disable conventional cameras ...

The level ends in a devastating fire and it must then move toward the helicopter landed nearby to try to make off with ...

Verdict: nothing very original in treatment, but a solid game-play, the wicked smarter than usual and especially the beautiful scenery of ...

The screen between each mission appears: a map that appear one by one all the locations of MI6 offices around the world ...

Second level presented: Siena and its riants sewers ...

But the mission: catch a Mitchell who managed to flee the 'Safe House' of MI6 in Siena (apparently always ups from the pre-generic, so).

On course for the first man through the sewers of the city, and eventually reach the open air, on a small plot. It must then climb on roofs and jump from one roof to another to move into apartments and try to catch your prey (while recovering various objects in the rooms: refills ammunition but also mobile phones that can receive further instructions M).

Detail: moult flingueurs course scattered on the roofs ...

You end up having to climb on top of a church steeple - which falls (with Mitchell) on a scaffold (scene directly inspired by the film)

Again, attention to detail allows illico immerse themselves in history.

The lack of high mobility (read: you can not walk anywhere in the scene) does not feel too ...

The third level that we could test - if we had had time! - - General Medrano concerned himself ..Lack of opportunity presentation should continue with Call of Duty 4 ... damned, tiens ! damned, well!

In short: a great fluidity of movement, motion capture striking realism, a palpable tension in the game-play, shimmering explosions, sound effects worthy of a Dolby Stereo (a very great care was brought to the band -son).

No gadgets loufdingues (style mechanical spider or watch Multi as in some previous games). Release Date France considered: perhaps a few days before the release of the film itself ...

So for everyone!

A report a multiplayer mode, and the possibility of playing Wii with a Walther P99 ...

One small flat: no multi-language version, alas, the French player will have a 007 who speaks French, American and the player will hear Bond with the Texas accent ...

Finally I wanted to know what's next for new games stamped 007?

Answer - diplomatic - Julien, the press: "Activision obviously wants to develop the James Bond license with perhaps a new game every year. It should also draw old films in the series ... "

Owl, owl, owl ...
As some said Ernst Stavro Blofeld "You Only Live Twice, Mr. Bond ...

Kevin Collette.
Warm thanks: Activision France (Julien C, Diane de Domecy)

Pretty cool IMO. It sounds as if Activision are considering adapting other films in the series. :(

Funnily enough, I was discussing this today. It woukd indeed be brilliant. But I'm hoping for an adaptation of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, myself.
