I quite agree. I'd watch TWINE over Thunderyawn any day :(.

OMG! That's high-larious! Thunderyawn... heehee. BRAVO! I'm so amused.

Thank-you. Although, in retrospect, Thunderbore might be even more apt.

And I prefer Thunderbore to The World is Nodding Off. :)

Ah well, each to their own. Although, personally, I should always prefer to Nod Off than to be Bored... :)

If you want to have a pleasant evening you won't watch CR! DAD is the movie that will make you cheer up!

:(

Between the thrilling PTS, Madagascar chase, Bahamas scenes, poker game, Venice fight, and finale at White's villa, CR provided a consistently high level of humor, excitement, and overall "cool." After watching it, I'm in a great mood, which is more than I can say about DAD.

Am I the only one for whom that's the case?

I meant when you want to laugh! DAD is more a comedy than an action film! :)

Is it wrong to love crazy over-the-type adventures like DAD but also to love serious character-driven stories like CR? And to not care for most of the Connery films and yet still consider him to be the best Bond?

Yes it is. Next issue! :(

I'm confused :/

No, its not at all wrong. I like both the fantasy tales if you like of Bond in the more OTT/Comedic Moore era, as well as FRWL and CR. Both are equally enjoyable. And I take that point, that DAD is a OTT adventure and CR a more grittier watch, and it is possible(for some) to enjoy both. :)

I personally would not enjoy DAD over some of the classic Connery films like Thunderball, FRWL etc.. but thats personal taste. I would always put the Connery films in first.

I find I have about 10 Bond films that get regulary played, the rest I can watch every couple of years or so. DAD is one I can watch every 3 or 4 years or so :( I can understand why some people like it though, as I like Moonraker and some of Rogers OTT adventures, DAD is in the same league of just a fun romp.
Its the great thing about the films, the diversity of the adventures. :)

As a Bond fan, you have the prerogative to like what you will and dislike what you want. That is fact. However,I've been rewatching all the bond films. I recently watched OP and DAF and these are films I used to hate...with a passion, especially the latter and it just so turns out that DAF is now easily one of my favourites, OP is highly entertaining BUT for me, DAD, is the movie that murdered it's own potential. It started off great and then shot itself in both feet. Once Bond leaves the cuban clinic, the film goes straight to [censored]sville.

As for the 60s era bond films, from Dr.No to OHMSS, they're all fantastic, although I need to rewatch YOLT to see how I feel about it because it bored me to no end the last time I watched it. That being said, I'd easily take the work of Terrence Young over any other bond movie any day, simply because Young knows how to tell a story and incoporate the action in a way that doesn't dwarf the actual story. There's a reason why Forster is harkening QoS back to the 60s era and funnily enough, Craig's suits in QoS seem to be near-spitting images of the suits Connery wore during his entire run as Bond.
