Did John Gardner write a book called "Grendel" back in the day? We are reading BEOWULF in my English class right now (I'd rather read Fleming but my teacher is against it - our class is about Brit Literature after all!) and I noticed a little section devoted to John Gardner. Is this the one and the same as the Bond writer?

No. That's the other John Gardner.

Nope, that's a different John Gardner. . .an American academic and novelist who died in a motorcycle accident about 20 years ago.
