HEy ppl , i was just wondering what everyone thought of the Bond fight finale between 006 & 007 , i noticed at the fight scene, there were bits i had never seen before, ... they certainly werent on the VHS i bought a long time ago, it seems some of it was cut on my VHS version than the DVD version, the fight had extra bits , anyway i was wondering what everyone thought of it and if , what is every1s favourite bond fight confrontation,

My top two are ;

Goldeneye - 006 & 007
OMHSS - between Bond and that Henchman at the hotel/casino

Anyone else think it's a bit off topic (to this forum) and should be moved to the General Bond one?

matt, you're quite right- not many people read the others!
back on topic: the 007-006 one was great. All played out with slick editing and no music to increase the drama and tension of the scene. I like the idea of equally matched fights (unlike the TND one with Carver).

I like the goldeneye one. And the sound is great too, i can hear it in my head, especially the bit just before and including where his arm gets bent back and hes pushed over the table. Its odd, with GoldenEye i didn't quite get how big 007 vs 006 really was - its really amazing how perception of the films changes over time. I watched it recently and its a real standalone bond, in look and sound - i even like serra now.

The 007 v 006 is my best fight, second would be the jaws fights in TSWLM i love the scared look on roger moores face, classic.

One question tho, how does 006 not die from that fall.

Well, he probably falls, cracks his spine- becomes paralysed, pummels most of his internal organs...which I think is worse than death. He'd be close to death, but just a little bit alive. He'd die eventually neway...i think

I agree with a lot of the people here. My favorite villian confrontation is the ending of Goldeneye... but it won't even compare to the DAD confrontation.

I think everyone is forgetting the most praised fight in film history, Bond vs Red Grant in FRWL. That was very slickly edited, and was really tense (something which the last two films have lacked).

007 vs 006 was a fantastic remake of that scene, but also stands very well on it's own. That was a brilliant confrontation.

I thought the 007/006 fight was great. The few instances where Bond has had to fight someone equally capable as him always seem to be good. Still not as good as the Bond/Grant fight though.

And as for it being in the wrong forum...yeah, more people read the DAD board but I think most people, including myself, use the "today's posts" feature rather than going from board to board and would have seen it anyway.

Definately the most brutal fight scene since the Bond/Red Grant fight. One of the high points in Goldeneye for me.

Well, its my favouirte fight in the series, it was so well done. And you guys are right, on the audio commentary, Martin Cambell says that he really wanted to model the fight after the FRWL scene.

The 007 vs. 006 fight is prolly one of my favourite all-time Bond fights. To see two of the best agents that Her Majesty has to offer battle it out is quite a sight, to say the least. The first time I saw it, I was mesmerised. And the worst part was when Tevelyan falls off the antennae, and you assume he's done for. But then you hear his screams as the entire thing falls on him. Ouch.

the 007/006 fight is excellent mainly because you know that they are evenly matched and that they were probably trained together

Spot on with that observation. The common thread between both fights is that Bond is up against someone who's physically his equal and you're not sure how Bond will survive the encounter as well. The best part of the Bond Trevelyan fight at the start of the sequence: Bond tosses 006 down a flight of stairs and shoots as him as he falls. Totally callous and totally keeping with the Bond character. The films need to get back to this type of action- not just explosions and automatic weapons fire.

Bond v. Sanchez could've been something to see, but there was this truck filled with gasoline and cocaine...
