Thank God, and Titan, for the boys not throwing it in on this one. One Grail is within reach.

Now, I'm expecting State of Excitement, Fleming's collected letters, Per Fine Ounce and "Heart of Erzuile" to be announced by week's end.

Great news! I've always had a thing for this title. Glad to see it used on a collection.

This is amazing news!

Once they finish the Bond strips, do you think Titan would consider collecting the 15 year or so run of The Saint comic strip? Someone has to collect that during my lifetime.

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come and we'll see a release date for the Nightbird collection announced later this year.

I got an email reply from Titan apologising for skipping River of Death after COLONEL SUN had already been released. I don't really think Girl Machine got clearance last week, particularly considering it's coming only four months after Polestar. TMWTGG, OP, OHMSS, GF, CR, DN and TSWLM came out every three months. CS and TGG four months apart, TS, TPP, DW five months apart, SB six. Now, TPP is coming after 5 and PS and TGM after four. I guess, they widened the gaps to have enough time to secure each consecutive one.

Amazon lists the book as being 104 pages long. The three stories alone come to 101 pages, meaning this one wouldn't include any extras after the title page and foreword.

Suppose that could easily change though when one considers how often Amazon updates their listings before a book is actually released.

That would be fantastic! I really hope they consider it. The Saint would make an excellent companion to their Bond and Modesty Blaise series. Were the Saints published in the same newspapers as Bond? Before I get too greedy, though, I should say how grateful I am that it looks like we'll get a complete run of James Bond!

Now if they'd only reprint and translate some of the foreign Bond comics....

Not too likely, I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure the rights are elsewhere and wouldn't be worth acquiring. Given the silliness of some of the Semic comics, I can't imagine that the series would sell many issues or last very long.

I don't know. I know the strip was produced in the US.

An outfit named Zig-Zag published 59 color Bond comics in Chile in the late 60's. They're in Spanish, obviously, and include adaptations of the original Fleming novels, plus a number of original stories that are generally a lot less silly than the Semic comics published in northern Europe. Fewer robots and giant mutants, but also fewer topless women. Also, Diamond Comics in India published colorized versions, much condemned by comic afficionados, of the McLusky/ Horak comics.

The Zig-Zag comics appear on ebay fairly often; the Diamond comics less so.

In addition to the titles Major Tallen listed above, the Bond graphic novels released in the US in the 80's and 90's were also in color.

Zencat has a nice article covering these here.

Don't be fooled by the US Amazon release date. It's always later than the UK release.

Do you think this collection will include Nightbird, Hot-Shot and Ape of Diamonds so that they can complete the run in one fell swoop?

Seeing as how there's no McLusky artwork in this collection, I hope they change to cover using Horak art.

I find it a little odd that there's still no Amazon.co.uk order link for this (the only current one is that for the US release on there). Considering the UK often gets these weeks before the US...

Hey Qwertz, how do you know this has come out in the UK? Amazon shows it hasn't been released yet. Has someone in the UK spotted it in stores?
