There was a memorial service September 15, 1964 at the church of St. Bartholomew the Great in London.

William Plomer gave the eulogy.

Caspar Fleming committed suicide in 1975 - drug overdose.

The Andrew Lycett biography would also be helpful on this.

Thank you. I paid my respects at Ian Flemings grave last year and was amazed how peacful it was. A perfect resting place.

I have read Casper Fleming felt in the shadows of his father much of his life and had passed away due to a drugs overdose but found no other infomation than this.

Though I read it years ago, I seem to recall that Lycett's bio does go into some small detail about Casper at the end of the book, and discusses his tumultuous life and death.

For further information on Caspar, I suggest reading The Letters Of Ann Fleming by Mark Amory. There is a poignant picture of him as a teen standing by a field of flowers.

Fleming's grave stone (or obelisk) is remarkably moving, no only for the location but for the fact his entire family is interred there.

I suggest any seasoned visitor to the UK take a trip there but it is in the middle of nowhere i.e. Wiltshire.

I hope that it was a little tidier than when I visited some years ago, it looked very unkempt and in need of some tlc.

I have since read the Andrew Lycett Biography of Ian Fleming, which was long long over due. So to answer my own question, it was a quite family affair with just 22 family and friends in attendance. Ann Fleming was late due to her stopping off at the lake at Warneford Place for a moments reflecion, on ariving at the church she found the service had started without her as the Vicar had mistaken Ian's sister in law as being Ann. Ann Fleming commisioned the obelisk that is now the Familys resting place.
