Apologies if this has been discussed recently - can't seem to find a similar thread so thought I'd start a new one.

What is the general opinion of Craig's Bond haircut, and is there going to be a difference in styles between the one he sported in CR and the cut he'll have in QOS? Do people prefer Craig's interview/chat show-style hair, with a side parting a la Connery in TB, or is the spikey, gelled CR haircut better?

From the little I've seen of the QOS stills (I've seen perhaps 10 at most), his haircut seems to be a mixture of the two styles I've mentioned above. When Craig was annouced as Bond I was pleased, but did notice his receding hairline and wondered how this may be counteracted in future movies. His receding seems to have halted though since he became Bond, and I now doubt that he'll need to wear a hairpiece at all (unless of course he's already wearing tiny ones, as Brosnan admitted to - they hid his widow's peak in TWINE and DAD).

Not sure which haircut of Craig's I prefer - what are your thoughts my friends?

His haircut is just fine for the role. I also kindof liked it on the day when they announced him as Bond. Either way is fine for me, however, I think the shorter cut is better.

I like the cut he sported in CR. That may be because it's pretty much the same one I've had for several years.

I like the cut from Casino Royale as well. The shorter cut just seems to look good all the time.

I wasn't crazy about his CR 'do because to me it looked unkempt. Which probably has a lot to do with my age--my first theatrical experience of Bond was way back in TB, meaning my "image" of Bond was that his hair was combed and possibly Brylcreemed (or maybe shellacked!) in place. The CR cut may be stylish and contemporary, but through the whole film I kept thinking, "Use a comb, dagnabbit!" (Yes, "dagnabbit." I'm pretty stinkin' old.) I had the same problem with TD's hair in LTK, especially that mess at the back of the neck. To me, that wasn't Bond.

But all the QoS pix we've seen show DC with his hair straighter and more, well, organized. I'm happier with that. Smoother, sleeker, more sophisticated, IMO.

And I really mean "IMO." I don't contend that I'm right. I freely acknowledge that this is a deeply prejudiced viewpoint. It's just what I prefer.

The spikey, funky look definitely sets him apart from the pack. Go, Dan!

Yeah, I liked it like that as well. The CR cut works fine though.

Well I know a lot about hair, looks and style, so I guess I can say something here; His look is really nice for the James Bond role, but just for the role, I mean, the gentleman who knows about etiquette and the like. But in my opinion, he looks better with it a bit longer than how it is now, not that much though.

I kind of prefer his QoS style. It looks just a bit longer than in CR, if not close to the style he had in the Venice sequences. I'll have to see the actual film to really judge.

Considering that QOS takes place minutes after CR, it will have to be the same cut...

I didn't like his hairstyle in CR (for what it's worth, I didn't like Vesper's haristyle either, Eva can look a lot better...), but I thought it was supposed to be short because Bond had just been recruited by MI6 from SAS (or whatever), so he had a more military hairstyle. I suppose this can't be different in the beginning of QOS, but hopefully his hair will be slightly longer and neater in later parts of the film; it looks like that in all the photos we 've seen so far. So, no big changes, but those little ones are for the better.

I still think he should have slightly longer hair and a hint of a sideburn, just to lessen the effect of his ears on his appearance (if anyone managed to focus higher than the neck in the swimming trunks scene, they 'd have to notice and dislike his ears and haircut...)

I like hiw QOS due better, longer and to the side as he's finally becoming a real 00 agent and looks more classy instead of that crew cut in CR.

Agreed. I have hoped that over the course of Daniel Craig's tenure as Bond his hair would grow gradually longer. Like an evolution from the more military-bred SAS-type haircut that was approximated in CR, to a longer, more slick, more sophisticated look -- not unlike the style he had at the introductory press conference (and early photo with tux and gun) in 2005. I thought he looked a bit wiry with that longer hairdo back then, but now that he's put on weight he'd probably look great. Watching it grow out over the course of several films I think would also add to a feeling of character arc and growing maturity.

The haircuts are fine. Folks he's a secret agent, not a metrosexual who goes and gets his hair coiffured.

I wonder where Bond gets his hair done... his local barbers, Tony & Guy? Surely there's a product placement just waiting to happen here...

Brilliant. I wonder if we could also come up with a new Line. My suggestions:
1) Tossed and blown, Mr. Bond?
2) Would you care for a casual shag, Mr. Bond?

That would be interesting if he has longer hair with each movie, perhaps in Bond 23 it will look just like his 2005 press photo??

I don't think so. That crappy haircut was left over from The Invasion shoot.

I sincerly hope that we never again see that terrible haircut from his intro. In 2008, it's perfectly acceptable for a conservatively styled gentleman to have a haircut that is NOT the combover. Look folks, Bond (especially Craig) is all about function. He is not pretty boy Pierce who looks like he spent 20 mins with a blowdryer achieving that look. His cut from CR was just fine. Frankly, I think Craig's new functional 007 would spend far less time thinking about his hair than people on here are.

He didn't have a "crew cut" in the Casino Royale I saw.

I personally think he should grow a mullet. It would be truly indicative of Bond's persona... business in the front, party in the back.

Pierce's hairstyle and Connery's were world's apart. Also, if I'm not mistaken, I believe TB was made somewhere around 43 years ago. What applied then doesn't neccessarily apply now and vice versa.

Well if you hate the combover style that's what it looks like they're heading toward in QOS.
