Seriously, no tongue in cheek: Have knighthood regulations changed? Connery was Scottish and still enjoys the title. So, can't an Irish actor...? And if PB wins a knighthood, surely I'll be recognized for my heroic efforts here...?

Knighthood can be bestowed on ANY nationality. A number of US citizens have knighthood, including the first President Bush.

Where nationality gets involved is whether or not they are addressed as Sir. Non-UK residents don't get that privilege.

Now, DoubleN, I think the world of you and have always deferred to your legendary expertise. Nevertheless, for the first time, I seem to be on top here: Despite my diminutive stature, most everybody calls me Sir.

Suggested rewordings are welcome. Must not antagonize British friends. Am still hoping for a knighthood for my new work on restoring Brozza's reputation.

Given that he's not British, your energies may have been in vain.

Scottish is British. Irish is not (except Northern Ireland), but then Brozzers is an American now.

Mr. Connery is so arrogant, at the age of six he changed his original name from Alan to Sean so that everybody in the world would be forced to use his accent.

On roasting Sir Sean facts or titbits...
Tommy was fond of suing people and litigation.. Allegedly.
Now maybe I read this in The Sun newspaper, but I seem to remember him threatening to take a newspaper to court Allegedly.
About ..... His big Tum ... Allegedly.
He has empirical evidence that his waistline in DAF never went over 33 inches, Allegedly. And wanted compensation over damaging reports by some journalist.
Naughty big Tum. I'm with the Journo though, surely the waistline strayed ... ever so slightly ... over 33 inches during that film(allegedly). Don't want to be sued by the Big Man.

Also, on the roasting subject, never liked his attitude towards the producers. I know they did you out of a few bob Sean, but they made you a star, before Bond it was Darby O Gill and the Little People.
And you roasted them on DAF getting over 1 mill in salary and 15% of the gross(allegedly) Although they could have given him a few bob more earlier to keep him sweet.

Also, Don't be like "Don't mention Bond". Other stars are typecast. Chris Reeve was typecast as Superman, Harrison with Indy. Sean is not the only guy to be typecast.
Still a great Bond though Sean. I pay homage to your ultimate Bondian qualities.

The elderly lady behind him was sorely offended and chided the youngster for his sacrilegious chicanery.

Andy Garcia weighs in on Sean's commitment to his Art:

Andy Garcia, who played opposite Connery's Oscar-winning supporting role as a Chicago cop in The Untouchables, said the actor tended to show up for rehearsals in "red, polyester golf pants" so he could drift away periodically to the links.

"He worked for, like, five minutes after 18 holes of golf. After the scene I said, 'That was very clever of you, you came in already dressed for golf, you play the scene at the end of the day, you came in and said one line, they get a big close-up of you and the scene is over.'

He said, 'It's not my first barbecue.'"

Sean Connery possesses the gifts of tact, courtesy and consideration, and has a strong desire to please and understand his love partner. Because he values harmony so highly, Sean Connery will compromise a great deal to avoid any discord or conflict in his relationships. Sean does not like to dwell on controversial or emotional subjects and often tries to "smooth things over" or "sweep them under the rug".

Not so much sweep under the rug as picking the rug up, rolling it up and sweeping her with it. Allegedly.

Yes, yes, we all know: great artists are often absolute jerks. The George Washington of Bondom wove a spell so potent, nearly half a century was needed to deliver us a Lincoln in the form of Daniel Craig to free us our chains.

I love Sean's first four Bond films, I don't dispute their greatness...but I say goodbye to him.

And to the toxic waste that trails him: images of a swaggering brute who allegedly put a fist in his wife's face...a megalomaniac who had one trick, a great one, he played for half a century, transforming any role he got into his own image. The big dope couldn't even be bothered to attempt a Russian accent in Hunt for Red October. A Scottish accent did just fine!

Dan's Lincoln has liberated me from my loathing for certain Bonds. But those are other stories for other threads. For now, I stand happy and free on the shore, waving goodbye to an old man sailing away on a leaking ship with MeMe! on the side.

And you? Any Conthing got your goat?

dodge. I'm gonna leave you my buttocks in my will.

How can I possibly argue when LALD is your favorite film? :(
By the way, would they make decent ashtrays or maybe party favors?

They're not that big, but you maybe able to park your bike in them. :)

Speaking of "fanny" and "pussy" I won't go there. (except on the odd occasion).
