Only a few seconds were dedicated to talking about this new Bond game, but at least one bullet point was a doozy: Activision announced that Quantum of Solace will use the same amazing engine (at least on some platforms) that powered 2007's graphically-astounding Call of Duty 4.

I don't really want to shell out any money for a newer game system right now. I wonder if they will make a PS2 version???

If it is a next gen game, which it is, I don't think that will be happening.

Well, the Wii isn't next-gen from a graphical standpoint so if you make a game for the Wii it could be easily ported to the PS2. This is why a lot of games on the PS2 are getting ported to the Wii (Okami, for instance, which is a great game; like Zelda). You can't really port a game from the 360 or PS3 to the Wii. You gotta pretty much start over from scratch. So while nothing has been announced for the PS2, it could make it's way there and it could be done by Eurocom. This article assumes that they're doing the PC version, but last I heard Beenox was doing both the PC and the Wii version.

Also, we knew the engine back in February, not sure why this is news here now.

It looks like it. I think third person perspective suits Bond better with all the other possibilities of wall cover, free running etc. However, GoldenEye 007 and NightFire weren't too bad.

this from :www.007magazine.co.uk/bond22/bond_22_06.htm

As expected, the first video game from new 007 licence holder Activision will be a tie-in with Quantum of Solace but also incorporating elements from Casino Royale (2006). Details are scant as the game is still very much at the concept stage. Daniel Craig (James Bond), Mathieu Amalric (Dominic Greene) and Anatole Taubman (Elvis) all took part in body scans on 17th January 2008.

I am a bit disappointed to hear it won't be a third-person game. I do enjoy first person games, but for the reasons sharpshooter mentioned, I think third-person works a lot better for Bond. I don't think the melee fighting will be as effective in first-person as it would be in third-person. Also, say they decided to include something like the Madagascar chase from Casino Royale, that also wouldn't be as effective or as smooth to control as third-person would be.

That being said, I still think it will be a great game and it will be a lot of fun to be able to play as Daniel Craig.
