Anyone following the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year? Luckily for me ive made it to two games this postseason and it was a blast. Even though my team isn't in it and have not been in it since 2000, its still fun to watch even those 4 OT games such as the Stars-Sharks game last night. Post your thoughts.

My Avalanche got their [censored] handed to them by those pesky Detroit Red Wings.. A clean sweep...4-0 so my interest in the Stanley Cup Playoffs has ended for this year..

As usual, the Leafs have disappointed, and didn't even make the play-offs this year. Now that Montreal has been defeated there are no Canadian teams left, and I admit I've kinda lost interest. Does that make me a sore loser? Yes - yes it does.

My Panthers made a good run towards the end, but as always they fizzled out. they always do poor when the season starts, then they pick it up in March.

Has there been a team in any big league sport which has gone from last place the previous season to the semi-final (or final four) the next, like Philadelphia in the NHL?

In Serie A in Italy, Juventus of Turin, after serving a year penalty for fixing games in the Italian top division, made it back into to top 4...but only in terms of standings, not in terms of a play off.

Sorry about that... well, not too sorry...

For two teams with a history, that didn't turn out to be much of a series.

The Red Wings are very tough when they're playing well. I just hope this time off doesn't kill their momentum.

Some great hockey in the playoffs this year. Since my Blues aren’t in it, I’ve been just picking a team for each series. So far only the Pens have been doing me right, though I didn’t pick a team between the Stars and Sharks (since they’re both evil  ). Shamefully, I’ve even rooted for Detroit at times, but only because I hate Hasek so much that I like seeing the Wings doing well with Osgood in goal.

Go [insert team of choice du jour here]!

I tip my hat to you and your Red Wings, MarcAngeDraco!! You guys played well.. Fact is the Avs had SO many of our good players down with injuries that it wasn't very competetive.. And I guess that I wouldn't be too upset with getting swept out of the NHL playoffs...if it were not for the Denver Nuggets getting swept out of NBA playoffs by the Lakers barely a week before!! So it really wasn't a good week for sports fans in Colorado..

I've been paying attention slightly. Was watching all the Calgary Flames games with my best friend as he's from Calgary... alas they're out of the running. But I end up catching a game with him once in a while.

So who's left standing as of right now?

well it seems were having a Wings-Pens cup final. hopefully it will live up to the hype of one of the best series we see in years even though 3 of the last 4 series had seen 7 games.

I’ll be pulling for the Pens. Gino, Sid, and the boys winning the Cup would be the best thing for the NHL.

Well, so far the Cup finals have been a MAJOR yawner!!  Detroit is already up 2-0 after shutting out the Penguins 4-0, and 3-0... I'm hoping Pittsburgh can do something..ANYTHING!! to win a game and make this an actual series.. Otherwise..its over real quick..

I'm mostly focused full time on my Celtics fighting off the Pistons in the NBA finals. It's now 2-2..each team has stolen a victory on the opponent's home court. It's been quite exciting!! Go Celtics.. I'm SO hoping for a good ol' fasioned Celtics vs Lakers finals.. just like the old days!!

It would appear we're going to have an Original Six match-up between the Black Hawks and my beloved Red Wings.

Anyone have any smack to throw about? I have this vivid memory of Jim Belushi throwing a broom onto the ice a few years back. A payback would be very satisfying B) .

Marc Savard is just a monster making those passes behind the net.

Reminds me of Gretzky in that sense.

I'm happy for Paul Maurice and a great goal by Walker too! So, Pens vs Cannes and Wings vs Hawks. More great hockey coming up.
