What do you guys think about the actor who played Draco as the corrupt businessman Mortimer in Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West? I think that's probably one of the reasons they picked him for OHMSS...

great sleazy character too in his rapport with Fonda's sinister Frank character!

I actually find the two roles completely different. Mortimer was a slug, an unsavory character who left a trail of smile everywhere he went (did I just quote the movie?), it's really hard to feel sorry for him in his final moment, though it's a beautiful scene anyways, Leone never used black & white characters and even for a unlikeable character you can't help but be touched. Draco is a bit more whismical in that his charcter probably should be a bad guy, yet because of the context of the story turns out to be a loveable Bond-ally with lotsa charisma, kinda like Columbo in FYEO.

That was the name he assumed later in the film, since early on he is called Angel Eyes a few times.

Oh yeah, silly me, it was Morton in OUaTitW. Mortimer was actucally Lee Van Cleef's character in For a Few Dollars More. In The Good The Bad and the Ugly his name other than his nick name Angel Eyes was Sentenza, if I remember correctly.

You're right. I stand corrected. Leone confuses me by using two actors(Gian Maria Volante who plays different villians in the first two) playing two different roles in this series.

Anyway, I love the spagetti westerns. I have a 17 X 11 poster of FAFDM on my wall.

Indeed, and also if you look even closer you'll notice a lot more recurring actors in Leone's flicks. That fat guy Wallace in GBU was one of El Indio's men in FAFDM, AND one of the Rojo's men in FOD. Another one of El Indio's men in FAFDM was Tuco's brother Pablo in GBU. The old bartended in FAFDM was the station attendant at the beginning of OUATITW. The one armed bounty killer looking for Tuco thoughout GBU is one of the three men at the beginning of OUATITW. I'm sure there's a lot more, but that's just from my memory. And, though he was only in one Leone film, Klaus Kinski, who appeared in other spaghetti westerns gave a great performance as the hunchback in FAFDM.
