Er...
Fleming's Bond = Jack Kennedy - handsome, worldly, charming, immaculately dressed, irresistible to women, respected around the world.
Faulks' Bond = Gordon Brown - lardy, scuffily dressed, ineloquent, bumbling, limited experience with women (some say alternative peferences), not desperately respected even in th UK.
The omen's for DMC = not good if that's the case.
Oh, and:
Fleming's Bond = Jack Kennedy = dead.

Quite. Is it really healthy that James Bond is being associated, however tenuously, with the walking disaster currently occupying Downing Sreet? God knows, I was no fan of Blair and yearned daily for his removal from office. But, sadly, it's true that one should always be wary of what one wishes for...

The Prime Minister admitted to being a fan of 007, having read "most of the James Bond novels a long time ago".
Oh, very good. He gets to claim that he's down wiz da Bond-reading kidz, but, of course, it was all so long ago, so for heaven's sake don't ask him any questions about what he thinks of the books.
