Possibly MGW just has 'production/location fatigue' at the moment, and will be full of enthusiasm once again come October when the film is realeased. Or possibly he really meant what he said, and he is determined to take some time off.
This leaves us, as far as I can see, with the following possibilities:
1. MGW goes back on what he said, and Bond 23 is released at the end of 2010.
2. MGW (and Babs) take a year off and Bond 23 is pushed back to the end of 2011.
3. MGW takes 6 months off, and Bond 23 is released in the summer of 2011.
Now, I think it would be a real shame if Eon broke their two year cycle so early in the Craig era (Pierce had three films in a two year cycle before DAD of course). Craig is not a young-looking 40 year old (although I love him dearly) so it would make sense to get the best out of him before it is too late. Also, we have the 2012 50th anniversary on the horizon - a bigger date in the Bond universe than 2007 was surely. I would have thought that Eon would have been keen to get a movie out in this year.
So, my preferred schedule:
Bond 23 2010
Bond 24 2012
What I fear will happen:
Bond 23 2011
Bond 24 2013/14
I think that if Eon start introducing 3 year breaks then we will almost certainly get one less Craig Bond film than we would've if they had stuck to a rigid 2 year schedule. It would be a HUGE shame if Craig did anything less than 4 movies if you ask me.
Any thoughts on this?
