Looks great climbing the drainpipe... not really sure about jumping on the bus, seems a little over-done, but we'll see...

Danny Craig is taking the character to a whole new level, where the producers, even after Craig retires, can never go back to a Moore-like actor to play JB.

from MI6.co

Daniel Craig arrived in Italy on Sunday 6th April 2008. Filming for the upcoming James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" is now underway in and around the town of Siena.

According to local press, Craig arrived during the night, escorted by two bodyguards. He has taken residence in a quiet region on the outskirts of the city.

I still can't get over the fact they employed Moore for so long into his old age....granted, he made money at the box office, but no one believed all the action pieces...he looked fragile even in FYEO

As far as I know the MI6 traitor in Siena is not Slate, although admittedly I don't know where he fits into the plot.

Austia?

Someone over at the MI6 forums suggested that as Bond and Slate share a passing resemblance (I my ownself don't see it), Bond could go to Austria an impersonate Mr. Slate after killing him at the opera. He then goes to Haiti, where Camille confuses him with Slate, explaining the "mistaken identity" thing in the synopsis.

Makes sense

as for the video looks similar but different to the Madagascar chase of Casino Royale and looks really cool i might add.

I'm actually thinking this one might be better; something a little more ... grounded. Sure, they had to open Casino Royale with something that was memorable, but I've heard not a few people describe the chase as being cartoonish. I know what Bond does is, for the most part, realistic, but some of the things Mollaka manages to pull off are a little too over-the-top and don't quite fit in with the tone of the rest of the film.

Ah, I like this idea very much.

I much prefer the Craig era's version of overdone and outlandish, if it can be labelled that, over the CGI nonesense of DAD.

Well, since I had previously accidentaly read about the PTS then I thought reading this article wouldn't hurt. Great sounding action, realistic, gritty and exciting - just what it should be. Don't like the jumping on the bus bit though. A bit typically outlandish Bond even though it can still be done. Leave this sort of thing for Moore type Bond films. You have to expect this sort of thing though unfortunately as this is a Bond film. The rooftop chase sounds a bit like the scene in The Assignment (1997), although Aidan Quinn's character wasn't on the roof for very long. The bathroom fight in CR was also in The Assignment. They should use this film as a template for the Bond films except with more glamour and less hardcore violence obviously. Maybe they have. The only thing is that this PTS sounds like it will go on for to long. Action scenes that go on for to long begin to bore me too.

For those who are concerned about the length of this sequence, I'd say that it is the belief of many here that the Lake Garda car chase and the Siena foot chase occur either side of the main titles. Perhaps 5-10 minutes of Italian action in the pre titles and a further 5-10 afterwards, I would guess.
