Not really. I'm just a Led Zeppelin fan and was deeply mad when I found out this travesty had been made. Kashmir is one of the best songs ever, and I uppose that if nybody has the right to butcher it, it's the band themselves (kind of like when U2 and Mary J. Blige did One a short while bacl) ... but sampling that riff in a crappy song by a crappy artist for a crappy film was possibly the most undignified death they could give that song; inded, it was rated #27 in the list of "Least Metal Moments".

I'm not saying it can't be done, but more that Bond shouldn't attempt it until such time as we know it can be done right.

By the way, "Come with me" introduced me to Kashmir, as I am sure it did a few new Led Zepellin fans, and so it was good for that. I think there is something that Jimmy Page, an orchestra and a rapper/hip hop artist could come up with that would sound fantastic, but I don't think it has happened yet.

But then again, if they did, I suppose they'd all be selling out, so maybe that is why it hasn't happened?

I know that appearance doesn't count on a singer, but look at her! She is more likely to get the role of the new ugly, Bond villain than of the main title singer!

Here's a few artists that I could see doing a Bond theme:

1. Amy Winehouse: Problems aside, she has a classic voice similar to an old 007 theme.

2. Beyonce: She could belt out a great theme.

3. Leona Lewis: Another pop singer that is a bit of everything.

4. Oasis: They could offer a rock ballad that is similar to Casino Royale.

5. Duffy: Another songstress that is very hip and retro.

6. Rihanna: A pop ballad that is a bit moody could be great with her voice.

7. The Killers: A unique sounding title that offers a glimpse into Bond's psyche.

8. Maroon 5: They could bring an intriguing song that helps us learn of Bond's romantic troubles.

9. Estelle: Another vintage songstress.

10. Alicia Keys: Her voice is strong enough to handle a Bond song, but she's a bit boring.

Singer Amy Winehouse could suffer a "slow and painful death" from lung disease emphysema, her father has said.

Mitch Winehouse told Sky News she had "a small amount of emphysema in the top of one of her lungs" but it could become "a lot more serious."

"I want people to understand - even if they give her one cigarette, they're causing her harm," he said.

He added that Winehouse would stop performing live shows "for the foreseeable future".

"From 6 September, we're not going to be doing any more work," he said.

"She has five contractual gigs between now and then that she has to do. Then she will be relaxing and writing."

Winehouse, 24, was admitted to hospital in June after collapsing at her north London home.

Father's fears

Her father said she had developed emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine, but was now taking steps to "check her behaviour".

"My biggest fear is that she would die," he said, "but she won't die of a drug overdose.

"It won't be that quick.

"She would die, unfortunately, of emphysema... We would be talking about a very slow and painful death, gasping for air."

"I would ask any people who would supply her with substances to think on that," he added.

Winehouse was discharged from hospital in time to perform at a special birthday concert for former South African leader Nelson Mandela and the Glastonbury festival, but she has continued to act erratically.

We know she has recorded a demo tape; the Winehouse camp confirmed as much shortly after Ronson said she was not up to making any new material (ie, Winehouse did it herself). She is the only person we know of who has made it public that they have recorded a demo tape, though it's incredibly unlikely - I'd say impossible, but I've been wrong before - that no-one else has done the same. The opportuity to record a Bond theme does not come about very often, so it could well be that if Winehouse is indeed approached - again, unlikely given her antics and EON's lack of tolerance for that kind of behaviour (read: Meatloaf shooting his mouth of about his role in TWINE before the producers said he could, for which they revoked the contract) - she will say yes an record it. She's not entirely out of the running, but the chance of her getting the theme are about one in a very large number.

Not odds I'd play.

Just to ask. I know Amy Winehouse has a new CD after her death released and it doesn't contain the Demo tape of the Quantum of Solace song she did. My question is do you think they will ever release it or was it ever offically all recoreded before her death?
