Chapter 2 - Dedication to the Job.
**************************

Bond had woken up at 7 to reach 009s state funeral at 9. And at 12, he had to go to a meeting with all the 00 agents. He was not told what it was about, as is the case with just about every other meeting. But right now, he was worried about getting breakfast. His housekeeper, May, made him scrambled eggs with sausages, and very black coffee, just the way he liked it. He got dressed into a Brioni suit with a black tie.
He got into his vintage DB5, and drove off. He then noticed a few cars were following him, in black Mercedes Benz's. Bond thought they looked suspicious. He had his finger on the oil slick button, but his suspicions were relieved when they passed by him. He got to the funeral a few minutes late. After the funeral, he met 009's wife, Ashley Smith-Binkard and two children, Jason, 12, and Richard, 7. "Hello James, I've heard a lot about you from Stan." She said.
"I've heard a lot about you too, Ashley," said Bond. Ashley was quite a beauty. She was 5'4, jet-black hair, brown eyes, pouty lips and from Italian ancestry. Bond was surprised that he didn't get her first. But, he quickly put such thoughts aside, as this was a dead agent's wife. Bond held her hand in his and said, "I promise you and your children, that I will get the person behind all of this, that killed your husband. I will promise you that."
"Thank you, that's all I ask of you James. Personally, I would kill the person who made me a widow and made my children fatherless," she said viciously.
"Better me then you, Ashley," Bond quipped. She then smiled. Then Bond smiled, after knowing that he brought a little bit of happiness in her day, in a world of pain and death. "Hopefully I'll see you soon to give you an update," Bond said.
"Thank you," Ashley replied.
Bond went on his way to the 00 meeting, which was only a couple of miles away. He then saw those same, black Mercedes that were trailing him before. Bond then heard bullets whiz pass his windshield. He thought, "This is going to be trouble." A car chase in the streets of London thrilled Bond, but you couldn't see it on his face. Bond put up the bulletproof windshield, and "stepped on it." One of the Benz's pulled up right next to the DB5, probably to kill Bond, but then he remembered the tire slashers, and got closer to the Benz. There was a load slashing sound. Then the car went wildly out of control and crashed into a front window of a Harrods.
There were two more Black Benz's to get rid of. Bond thought of his rear machine guns, and fired them off, and got the driver in the chest, and hit a couple of cars. Then the final Benz. He just didn't want to go down like the rest of them. The driver fired some shots from a Glock 9 mm, which whizzed past Bond again. He then shot out Bond's tires. Bond re-inflated them, via an upgrade from Q a couple of years back. Then Bond hit the oil slick, and the Benz went out of control and slammed into a fire hydrant.
Bond looked back for a split second, and then crashed into a wall, which surprisingly enough, turned out to be the 00 meeting location at Harrods. Bond got out of the car and thought, "M and Q are going to murder me for sure this time."
M said, "What the hells happened here?"
"Some fools waited too long for a tune-up," Bond quipped.
"I'll talk to you later," M said.
"Dedication for the job, 007?" one 00 agent quipped. All of the agents started laughing.
"Bastards," Bond muttered under his breath. M then escorted Bond to the basement of the department store.
