I've just posted a new Q&A with Charlie Higson about his fifth (and maybe not so final) Young Bond adventure. Some good stuff here.

Good questions zencat. The wait for 'BRC' is going to kill me.

That's a good interview Zencat. The Young Bond Dossier is a great site. I would like him to write more but I fear he means he will just oversee the graphic novels.

There's also that possibility of a short story. Remember that? I considered asking Charlie about this, but I wanted to just focus on BRC.

Thanks for the compliments re the site, quantumofsolace. Keep watching. I've got some great stuff coming up.

BTW, I love the sound of Bond's "utility jacket" based on something boys at Eton use to do. I really like how Charlie works in "gadgets" that are grounded in reality/history (like the Apache in DOD).

Fantastic Q&A, zen. Definitely sounding like this will be one of the best in the series.

Nice main pager, Qwert-O.

BTW, Charlie says the graphic novel is due in September, but according to the centenary site and Amazon, it's now October 4.

Ah yes - just added a small note about that in the main pager.

I really enjoy hearing Higson talk about the Young Bond books. He's obviously put a lot of work into them while retaining his enthusiasm for the project, and that comes through beautifully.

Remember the derision that greeted the announcement of the Young Bond series? These books could have been simply dire. That they've actually been thoroughly enjoyable, and a worthy addition to the Bond canon, is due in no small part to the talents and energy of Charlie Higson. Well done, Charlie, and thanks, Zencat, for bringing us so much information and insight into these books.

Great interview.

If they continue the Young Bond series, I hope it will be when Bond is in his late teens in the war with more of an adult tone.

On the publishing front, I suppose "By Royal Command" will be a stand-alone hardback volume like "Hurricane Gold" - that is, out of cync with the wonderful Collectors Editions of the first three books.

So, any bets of whether we start to see adverts shortly for a UNIFORMED, boxset for all five?

Or is "Hurricane Gold" to get the Collectors Edition treatment this autumn?

John/Zen?

Yep, BRC will be a stand-alone hardback.

Oh, I'd love a box set!

I haven't asked about an HG Collectors Edition yet. I was just thinking about that last night. I really hope they do one. But with DOD Collectors ed, I remember they really didn't know until much closer to publication. Think it has something to do with these being done in partnership with Waterstones. But I'll look into it soon.

The next thing is the HG paperback. I'm hearing there's going to be some nifty promotional stuff coming our way very soon.

Great interview, I will really hate to see this run of young Bond come to a end. But, BRC sounds like the best of the lot.

For the paperback? Sounds quite cool.
