Super tcr strikes again!

Hurrah - ok my quote is:
"Don't be so sure."
Posted 23 June 2013 - 07:04 PM
Preceded by "The guy must have drowned, Mr. Krest."
"We have to report."

That I believe, is Gyorgi Koskov to a swimming Necros in The Living Daylights..
If that is correct, then..
" This is double of what we are paying now! "

Medrano to Greene at the Perla de las Dunas sleaze summit.
"I've tried everything else."

This would be Evelyn Tremble to Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale '67 when she asks him, " I thought Evelyn was a girl's name.." (Ahh good old Peter Sellers!)...If this is correct, then..
" How much is that?? Did he pay for this? "

Professor Dr. Metz, to 'Curly,' the Vegas gas jockey.
"You really know far more about it than I do."
Posted 01 July 2013 - 07:15 PM
Metz! I could hear his voice but not place it!
AMC, I think yours is Scaramanga to Bond referring to his solar energy plant?
Posted 01 July 2013 - 10:16 PM
Quite.
Posted 02 July 2013 - 02:58 PM
"...putting their right hand and middle finger in the hole."

Qu'est-que whaa?
Posted 02 July 2013 - 04:34 PM
I'm not making this up.
Posted 02 July 2013 - 11:19 PM
I found the answer but I won't post it, as I consider googling for quotes sorta like cheating (unless I'm confirming one after I've thought of it).
Let's see how long it takes for someone to remember/correctly guess.

Hmm. Very interesting dialogue! Is it from a Roger Moore film...?

Posted 03 July 2013 - 03:41 PM
AMC, would you agree that it's one of the oddest bits of dialogue in the whole series?
Not given its context. It only seems odd when isolated like this.
Let's help out tcr and the others with a clue:
Not from a Roger Moore film, but similar in a way to the first part of the Venice scene in Moonraker.
Posted 03 July 2013 - 04:12 PM
I know the answer too, but will wait a bit to let others have another guess or two..
Posted 03 July 2013 - 04:24 PM
Another clue: I originally noticed it when I used to audiotape the ABC broadcasts of the films, back in the pre-video dark ages. It's way more conspicuous without the distraction of visuals.
AMC, I still think it's a really odd thing for people to do . . . in context, I mean. But I'm not from that part of the world.
