Two good guesses, but not what I was thinking of.
Hint: Bond is not the speaker.

How about Boris Grishenko in one of his 'invincible' moods?
Posted 01 February 2017 - 05:11 PM
EXCELLENT answer!
But again, not the one in my little brain.
Another clue: The speaker is responding to someone else, and "Yes!" is the only thing this person says in reply. That is, it's not part of a longer speech.

Hmm.. Is it Tania when Bond is..err.."pumping her for information" about where the LEKTOR machine is in From Russia With Love?
Posted 01 February 2017 - 06:39 PM
No, that one I would consider as having something before it: "Mmm...yes."
Right Bond, though.

There's another hint in a recent response I made in the Quote Conversation thread . . .
Posted 08 February 2017 - 02:47 AM
Ahh.. Moneypenny saying she'll accept a tulip instead of a diamond from Bond's trip to Amsterdam in DAF?
Posted 08 February 2017 - 03:04 PM
Yes indeed, Mr. Dove! Your turn!
Posted 08 February 2017 - 05:14 PM
" Can't imagine why..."
Posted 08 February 2017 - 11:17 PM
M, contemplating what possible 'delay' Kamran Shah and his men could have encountered at Heathrow at the end of TLD.

"Show him what you've got."
Posted 10 February 2017 - 06:03 PM
Jack Wade telling Bond to show Dr. Greenwald the missing decoder he recovered in Tomorrow Never Dies?
Posted 10 February 2017 - 10:20 PM
I thought that would take a little longer.
Back to you, Milos.
Posted 13 February 2017 - 05:22 PM
" That's extra man! "
Posted 13 February 2017 - 07:57 PM
Filet of Soul (Harlem) waiter to Bond explaining the "neat" surcharge.
Posted 13 February 2017 - 10:10 PM
Correct!
Posted 14 February 2017 - 06:09 AM
Posted 15 February 2017 - 01:50 AM
Followed by "You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season"?
Posted 15 February 2017 - 05:27 PM
Not the instance I was thinking of, but good guess.
Posted 16 February 2017 - 12:29 AM
Preceded by "Who would have a signature gun?"?
Posted 16 February 2017 - 05:22 PM
I'd forgotten that one! No, sorry.
One (not much of a) clue: You're right that the speaker isn't Bond himself.
Posted 16 February 2017 - 09:55 PM
Hmm.. Elektra King to Bond when he's captured at Maiden's Tower in TWINE?
Posted 17 February 2017 - 02:13 AM
Vesper telling Evelyn Tremble what his new cover name will be in CR 67?
Posted 17 February 2017 - 03:09 PM
Neither, I'm afraid.
But the speaker IS female.
Posted 17 February 2017 - 04:55 PM
Preceded by "Pola Ivanova!"?
Posted 17 February 2017 - 06:35 PM
'Fraid not.
It's from earlier in the series than that.

Fiona Volpe's famous rant about her not falling into the usual pattern:
"James Bond, who only has to make love to a woman and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing. She repents and immediately returns to the side of right and virtue." ?
