Now if they'd just release a Colonel Sun in this style.

That would actually be a good idea IMO.

Beautiful.

I always go for UK editions, but this cover might be too good to pass up on.

They might just as well reissue COLONEL SUN with the new title QUANTUM OF SOLACE. It would amount to the same thing that they're doing already, and would at least be a case of reviving currently out-of-print material.

I'm a huge fan of this cover, but I also like the UK counterpart as well.

Makes one wish all the Bond novels would get the Fahey/Serra treatment.

I agree imagine those kind of covers for the Gardner novels or devil may care

It's about time the Fleming family did some updates on the release of the books. I always wondered if Glidrose at the time of Never Say Never Again was going to release Thunderball with a limited release on the latest movie title. The same idea came when Eon released A View to a Kill or later with The Living Daylights. But no such luck.

Finally, a new face lift on an old story that never got the recognition it deserves. Great artwork and one for the collector because I would guess that this is not going to be a huge print run. However, I could be wrong and they could re-release this collection years later when they make The Property of a Lady, Risico and/or The Hildebrandt Rarity.

The girl on the cover picture was also featured on the FYEO cover. Wonder if it was a real life model or a pure Fahey creation.

But i concur that it's a fantastic cover and a Colonel Sun one would be most welcome.

Looking at his website the girl used on the cover of FYEO is actually from a poster he created earlier called Jersey Girl.

She can also be seen in this poster.

I seem to recall a Fahey interview a while ago - when the books featuring his covers first came out - where he said all the women were real models. He mentioned the luck of having these beautiful women show up and strip off for him. I want a job like his.

Same here fellas.

Very cool. Thanks Dr S! Do you know if any more of the models on the Bond covers have been used elsewhere in other Fahey work?

It is indeed a unique situation that the U.S. seems to be getting the better cover art these days. Devil May Care, Double or Die, The Moneypenny Diaries, and now this book. All superior to their UK counterparts, IMO.

Now if they'd just release a Colonel Sun in this style.

That would be splendid.

The girl is the Playboy Playmate and 2004 Penthouse Pet of the Year Victoria Zdrok!

Yeah, Colonel Sun seriously needs the Richie Fahey treatment. I think I'll import the Quantum of Solace book from the US or get someone who's going on holiday there to pick it up for me!

It's pretty nice. 293 pages total, Matt. No special introductions or anything like that though - basically just For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy and The Living Daylights pushed together.

Well at least we have Scarlett Johannson on the cover...

Really, I think it looks like Maralyn Monroe.

Beautiful cover art though, I beginning to warm more and more to these Retro Bond covers.

Cool. I hope to win this in the CBn competition, if not I’ll go out and get it. It is an essential purchase for me; I love the Richie Fahey/Roseanne Serra style covers. I suppose it also would be convenient to have the short stories in one volume too.

Picked up the US edition today at Barnes & Noble - very nice looking! Makes me wish all the more that Richie Fahey and Roseanne Serra would do covers for all the Bond books.

Does the book confirm that Fahey/Serra are the ones behind this cover, and that it's not merely an imitation?
