"New James Bond film opening sequence is longest ever
Exclusive by Sean Hamilton 9/03/2008

The opening sequence of the new Bond movie will be the longest yet, stretching to 30 minutes before the credits appear.

Daniel Craig has spent three months filming a chase scene in Panama for Quantum Of Solace.

A Bond insider said: "It will be full-on action from the first second. Craig leaps from a Harrier jump jet into a speedboat and ends up in his Aston Martin. There is also a fight between helicopters.

"It is the big set-piece to rival the chase when Craig was up on the top of the crane in the last Bond movie."

Until now the longest pre-credit sequence of a Bond movie was 14 minutes in 1999's The World Is Not Enough."

Sounds like one- helluva pre-title sequence - even though the Sunday Mirror have
exaggerated the filming time as well as ignoring the fact that this picks up with Bond just having shot Mr White!

Hmmm - one wonders with Wilson & Craig already on record as saying this film starts literally 20 minutes after the end of Casino Royale - that the pre-title sequence would open with Bond in a chase scene filmed in Panama. Now I realize they could film these scenes ANYWHERE and say they are in Italy (where Casino Royale ends) - but I just find it hard with today's mature audience that they would do this.

Quite it's not the pre-title sequence, this is another big action piece all together. I have no idea how the Mirror would know the running time when it's not been edited and the film is still in a very secretive stage. I call balls to this article, as NO Bond title sequence would ever be half an hour long.

Sounds pretty awesome.

Must admit - 30 minutes is wayyy to long and the pacing would be out plus it doesn't give much time for the rest of the story - especially when Marc Forster has stated that the entire film will only last 120 minutes!!

Absolute nonsense. How do established papers print such things with straight faces, let alone who believes this crap? That's 1/4 of the damn movie.

I trust The Mirror like I trust a bomb. An actual explosive bomb, not a sex bomb like Tom Jones. Not that I'd trust him either.. cheeky minx.

The possibility of a 30 minute pre-title sequence doesn't excite me that much, but I am intrigued by the idea of not having a pre-title sequence and, consequently, no title sequence. Having the film just start right after the opening logos could be a refreshing thing for a Bond film, and to just have the entire film run continuously from beginning to end could be very refreshing.

Nah it's complete rubbish. There are so many mistakes in that article that it would be too time consuming to name them all. I'll name one - Daniel Craig has clearly not been filming in Panama for three months. All the other errors are referred to in a different thread. Next!

I dont believe this for a second, not that this wont be included, just the fact that it will be merged into the PTS. Next rumour please?

What proof do they have with these assumptions?

That is just what they are. Assumptions.

Credibility is all the media have. Once they lose that they have nothing.

I can't wait for the tabloids to say that CR, the full movie, will be added on as a Pre Credit Sequence to QOS, in order for the audience to catch on, thus making it the longest pre-credit sequence in movie history, at 2H20 mn + QOS 2 H = 4H20 total !

I don't believe a word of this article. Except perhaps 'Panama', which is a country and also something to do with dentists.

Yeah, the PTS will be 2h long, then the credits scene and 5 minutes of film after that...if they need to sell newspapers, they'd better come up with something better, or at least believable.

This may be a chase seen, but no pre-title sequence. If anything, it would be right after the titles.

It's rubbish, ill-formed rubbish. Reminds me of a Daily Express article from early 1999, stating very confidently that TWINE would feature Robbie Coltrane as THE villain, with the action 'climaxing atop the Millennium Dome on Millennium Eve'. It's just bits and pieces badly joined together, it insults people who actually enjoy paying attention to the production and know the score.

I don't think so either. Forster said the film will have a runnig time approx 120 minutes. Let's make a small calculation:

30 minutes Pre-title
+ 05 minutes Title
+ 05 minutes End-titles
= 40 minutes elapsed time

So, they would have 80 Minutes for the actual film. No, this can't be possible.
