I really can't wait for this book to be released. Just from the small amount of information that we've been given about the book, it has me very excited for what should be a return to form for Bond. This is, to me, the Bond event of the year.

QoS is the main event for me this year, but literary wise I am more excited for 'By Royal Command', but 'Devil May Care' is a very close second. It sounds magnificent from what little we have heard.

HAVE A LISTEN TO OUR SONG THAT WE ADAPTED FOR THE 'DEVIL' SONG COMPETITION BUT DID NOT ENTER DUE TO THE UNFAIR CONDITIONS - IT'S CALLED 'THE POWER OF A MAN' AND IS ON WWW.MYSPACE.COM/TWROXX - YOU'LL ALSO FIND ANOTHER POWERFUL 'BOND' TUNE CALLED 'MAN OF ICE'.

When do people think, we will get more of an official insight into DMC? The silence is frustrating!

New release date is 30th May - according to an e-mail I got from Amazon.

Are you sure that's not just your delivery date?

Amazon is still showing the regular release date with a delivery date of May 30th for me...

Odd, Amazon IS still showing the previous release date - and my initial e-mail said dispatch on the 27th, but the new e-mail says that the publication date has been pushed back.

The Devil's coming...

It's so great to see an adult Bond novel getting this kind of publicity - as it rightly should. There's no reason this book shouldn't rocket up the bestseller charts.

Keep these pics of promos coming, folks!

Watch this space...

I love promotional pictures because of their emphemeral nature. Yes, we all have copies of posters but to see them in their natural habitat, on cinema frontages, on poster hoardings, in shops windows and shelves, contemporaneously on display is extra special.

I love those shots of Fleming fingering multiple copies of OHMSS in the airport or those two girls bending down to get a better look at the YOLT hoarding by the BOND sign in NY. I love cinema frontages and those Cannes Carlton hotel displays. These images are so, so dominant and while there, we take them for granted. But when they are gone, they disappear like tears in rain.

It's not only the Devil may care...

See below and spot the familiar title(s)

I'm so pleased that so little has leaked about the book's contents. Very surprised (I mean, we are living, after all, In This Day And Age™), but very pleased.

Of course, it's an absolute certainty that the entire plot will be splashed all over the internet a few days prior to DEVIL MAY CARE going on sale - if nothing else, Bond fans who work in bookshops will see to that.

But I can't wait to crack open DMC knowing virtually nothing about it and be shaken and stirred by what promises to be the greatest Bond continuation novel ever!

Yes, very good that there is next to no information about DMC around. And I'll try to stay as spoiler-free as possible, the same as with 'Quantum Of Solace'.

You never know. I would've thought it an absolute certainty that the title of Double or Die would leak before the official announcement. Seems IFP really know how to keep a lid on surprises... unlike the Daniel Craig fiasco!

I think it depends on how old and how big your fanbase is. Young Bond is young and probably of medium-decent size. I don't know how many spoilers are really going to come out of that. Most of our news (or spoilers) on YB comes from Higson himself. Not to take away from Puffin's and IFP's credit for keeping a lid on Double or Die's title....

Really? That's strange. I should have thought there'd be a major marketing 'Blitz' for this one. After all, Bond used to do not too badly on the US market. Perhaps the current competition in the thriller field is a bit fierce, many big names writing 'domestic-US' stuff that's selling quite fine. Could be the publisher is holding back until positive reviews from GB and the continent give DMC a push?

It's rather dissapointing. Several friends here in the US (that I would call moderate 'Bond fans') didn't even know there was going to be a new Bond book. At least not until i told them about it.

Yep. It will be an exciting time on the 28th. We'll start to read DMC knowing it will be excellent but with no clue as to what it will contain.
