It was reported by one brazilian TV Show that the car chase (a major action scene) in QOS will appear at the pre-credits sequence while Bond is trying to kidnap Mr.White from his villa in Italy and then some henchmen try to stop him, it will be one of the biggest chases in the franchise.
I dont guarantee the veracity of this information.

One of the biggest in the franchise? Sounds good already.

That would make it one of the biggest PTS in the franchise as well! I think he would be doing it in White's Jag if that is the case. It looked like his little yacht moored out in the lake, so I don't think he had a car nearby.

I hope they save a good car chase for later in the movie.

Thanks for posting and welcome to CBn

That sounds about right, but it's nice to have some sort of "confirmation" of what the pre-title sequence involves (although I use that word loosely). Probably ties in with some of the ideas posted in this thread.

Welcome to the CommanderBond.net Forums, kauffman.

The line about it being one of the biggest in the franchise makes me wonder if it's just the normal press exagerration or not.

This news looks very promising. Trust the producers to come up with something original. Let

Hmmm I thought the PTS involved the DBS and the roof top chase?

I think we're fairly certain it involves the DBS, but less certain about whether the rooftop chase is part of the same sequence.

There's a lot of speculation on this addressed on other threads, but I thought the latest line of thinking is the PTS involves Bond being chased by the Italian police after his attempted interrogation of White goes sour. Whether or not this includes the roof top chase, usage of the motor boat we saw Craig training in, and some hints about a helicopter escape are not clear.

Either way the PTS seems to be shaping up nicely.

I smell press exaggeration like Qwerty suggested. Also, I'm sensing it may be a post-credits action sequence in the vein of the Madagascar Chase. I think the atmospheric, confined pretitles worked amazing well in Casino Royale and placing such a mammoth action sequence after the credits allows you to fully expand it to interesting lengths and scope, rather than feeling confined by the necessity to get the pretitles 'over and done with' in a timely fashion.

That being said, it's always been my understanding/suspicion that the car chase bleeds into the rooftop/sewers chase/art gallery fight sequence, and sort of created one major happening.

Or, it's possible they've taken an influence from the Bourne Ultimatum and gone with this sort of "continuous" action philosophy where the line separating sequences is a little blurred.

Ah, November. Hurry up.

Indeed, but I think a trailer would sate my urge for the time being.

In a perfect world, they'd market this thing exactly like Casino Royale. I don't want to see a LOT of it before it comes out, but a teaser in May and an amazing theatrical promo in September would be about perfect.

That being said, I am getting anxious to see the results of some of Marc Forster's take on 007.

Never liked huge pre credit sequences because they throw the films out of balance. "World is not enough" would be a good example. I hope they save to biggest and best for the climax.

I like the pre-titles to be no longer than 10 minutes, maybe even 5, so I hope this isn't true. There isn't much room for more than a basic car chase given that much time, which means this runs the risk of being too much like TWINE.

Completely agreed. Having a PTS that is a bit longer than the one in CASINO ROYALE is fine, but having one that's anywhere near the length of the one found in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH is not something that I can get excited about. A 10-15 minute PTS is way too long, and having a car chase in the PTS would all but assure than the PTS would be somewhat similar to TWINE in terms of its running time.

I've just had a thought, couldn't the car chase begin in the PTS and continue throughout the Opening Titles? It would be an interesting change.

Quoting Rog, "Rather a sweeping statement..." ...considering that Mr White has been shot by Bond in the leg.

I think he would just be trying to get Mister White out of there instead of chasing him.

I have no problem with another 10/15 minute PTS, ala TWINE. It's not my preferred scenario, mind you (I'd like one of about 4 or 5 minutes), but I'm not going to complain.

Quadritto. It's going to be a great movie, but we knew that after watching Casino Royale. I'll probably do the same thing that I did with that with Quantum of Solace, mainly being the need to watch it in the theatre at least 3 times, and buying it as soon as it came out.

My instincts are telling me we'll see a similar structure to CR. Atmospheric, mood-setting PTS with a major action sequence (car chase?) following the titles.

I Agree with you I would like a short and sweet PTS (could stretch to 7-8 minutes)

I think, also, it will be a very different film to CR, more action packed. But It looks like they are not neglecting the story and characters from what Forster/Amalric are saying. The Card table and romance scenes will maybe be replaced with more action scenes.

According to El Mercurio Online, at least four Land Rover modified with military weapons would chase James Bond's Aston Martin DBS through the Antofagasta Desert, which will double Bolivia.

An helicopter will film this chase.

According to the high number of chases, they could change the name of the film to 'Chasing of Solace' or something like that

It's also said in Critica that Bond uses that old boat you have seen on some photos from the past week after Camille is kidnapped.

I'm really curious about QOS plot...
