No offence to anyone, but I had this feeling ever since her name was announced and I looked her up in IMDB.

Oh I agree. I said she looks like a tart the first time I saw her. The people who like her are thinking with the wrong head that she's right for a Bond film.

I think she looks very striking, and in certain shots, beautiful. A good choice in my opinion, she could be a very good Bond girl and needs to be a contrast to Vesper.

The Bond girls you mention are hardly saints, and all 3 have appeared nude or topless in movies. Sophie Marceau even let one boob pop out on the red carpet!!

While recently watching OHMS with Lazenby and Diana Rigg - I couldn't get over how dated and ridiculous Diana Rigg's makeup and false eyelashes looked - very 'Mod'. And thats the point the iconic Bond series reflect the fashion and style of the day. In this respect Olga Kurylenko is very much representative of the type of 'sexy' glamour of our time. But she is gorgeous and have no doubt she will look amazing in Bond 22.

As to Eva Green, I think she looks like she is wearing clown makeup for most of Casino Royale and really can't understand why she is being used as a standard for quiet elegance and graciousness!

That's honestly probably the best picture I'd seen of her. There was an IGN announcement about her casting and all the pictures used made her look like a classier, European, Tila Tequila. The way she looks there is certainly an improvement...but I still think Gemma is prettier.

I know exactly what you mean, 007forever. I think the issue is that one photo that got a lot of coverage, of her looking sideways over her shoulder... I thought she looked a bit 'not quite right' in that photo. She certainly didn't strike me as having the Bond girl look. P0rn star didn't immediately come to mind, but I think we talking about the same sense that she didn't really fit as a Bond girl. I think the photo above is much better, though. And I console myself by thinking that if you look at some of the photos of Eva Green in which she is dressed in her standard "post-industrial-Goth" way, the last thing you'd think of is 'Bond girl' - yet she fit the bill perfectly.

Was anyone else present at her multiple screen tests? If they were, then they are the only ones able to criticise the casting.

I see the old front-room film fans are rearing their opinions over the turret some call 'inexperience'... I totally agree with an earlier post here that said Bond girls are - like the films themselves - of their time. The Barbara Bach and Jane Seymour look has long gone...
