Completely agree, MarcAnge. I'll even go further. This is the best Bond cover since Benson's U.K. Doubleshot. Thanks for posting those pics, zen! This is (by far) my favorite Young Bond cover to date!

And, again, you have to see it in the flesh to really appreciate it. The photos and scans don't capture the color correctly, and the Walker art has an almost a 3D quality.Completely agree, MarcAnge. Amazon hasn't let it slip out yet.Do you have a copy sharpshooter, or are you talking about the pics? Just wondering if maybe the book has slipped out early -- as the US editions almost always do.

Nah, I'm just commenting on the photos in your YB Dossier gallery.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the book shows up in some stores this weekend.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the book shows up in some stores this weekend.
Is it the chain bookstores that this usually occurs in? Or the more independent, smaller shops?
I've gotten most of the Young Bond releases from the internet thus far.

However, the Borders website has a nifty search store inventory feature so you can find out exactly which stores have copies:

I checked a Borders and two Barnes and Noble stores yesterday and didn't see it.

Great feature!
...but bad news when I used it to check the three closest Borders stores to me.

A classic situation in bookstores across the United States, unfortunately.I saw the book at the Borders in West Hollywood (where Tanner got his). Gotta say, no evidence yet of any improved marketing push on the part of Disney/Hyperion. Just 2 copies tucked away in the Teen fiction section, not even facing outward.
I've never seen more than two Young Bond books in a bookstore.

Yep, it is disappointing. If I'm lucky to spot a Young Bond book in stores, it is only SilverFin, and hidden away in some dank, craggy passageway. Are these book stores ashamed of the series or something?

Bookstores will display what they get. If you only get 3 copies, what can you do with that? All you can pretty much do is put them on the shelf in your fiction section. I will see a YB book in the "new for teens" section when a store gets several copies. But I wish Hyperion/Disney would release them in a display with a nice header that can be set up in the children's section (like in the UK). I mean, hello, it's JAMES BOND FOR KIDS. I think that's going to draw some attention.Yep, it is disappointing. If I'm lucky to spot a Young Bond book in stores, it is only SilverFin, and hidden away in some dank, craggy passageway. I thought the same, though on a larger scale, during the Benson era. Sure, IFP's workings have been revamped since the last of the Bensons were published, but James Bond is a massively established brand. It should sell itself - and more so when Higson's titles have been commercial and, importantly, critical successes elsewhere.
There's no reason why, with a bit of a marketing push, the books can't be shifted in larger quantities than two or three novels per store.
