Oh i'm not taking it personal but it sure seems like it is sometimes. For example in the Connery game, while i was gone over the weekend.DAF(My favorite Connery film) and the one i had been voting for got about 50 straight minus points eliminating it.Despite people saying it wasn't the worst film left on the list.

It certainly does not rip them off and for them being superior well that's an opinion.
FYEO beating FRWL and TB, 2 superior films it rips off? Sheesh!
Certainly it's an opinion to consider FRWL and TB the better films but to say FYEO is not "inspired" by FRWL and TB? Here's a few interesting similarities-
FRWL-Bond is involved in a Cold War mission to retrive the Lector device
FYEO-Bond is involved in a Cold War mission to retrieve the ATAC device
FRWL-Bond battles the blond henchman Red Grant
FYEO-Bond battles the blond henchman Erik Krigler
FRWL-Bond returns to his hotel room to find Tatiana waiting for him in bed
FYEO-Bond returns to his hotel room to find Bibi waiting for him in bed
FRWL-Bond becomes involved in the blood feud between his friend Kerim Bey and Bey's old enemy, a Soviet backed crook named Krilenchu
FYEO-Bond becomes involved in the blood feud between his friend Columbo and Columbo's old enemy , a Soviet backed crook named Kristatos
TB-The leading lady is played by a beautiful brunette French actress. Her character assists Bond to gain revenge on the villain who killed her brother. Her character also saves Bond's life by shooting a villain with a spear gun.
FYEO-The leading lady is played by a beautiful brunette French actress. Her character assists Bond to gain revenge on the villain who killed her parents. Her character also saves Bond's life by shooting a villain with a crossbow.
TB-Bond pursues a nuclear weapon trapped in a submerged vehicle under the sea.
FYEO-Bond pursues a nuclear weapon trapped in a submerged vehicle under the sea.
There are others but I'll let it go at that for now. Even Steven Jay Rubin(who's a big FYEO fan BTW) concedes that FYEO does get "inspiration" from these 2 earlier Bond classics(which he does rate higher than FYEO)
I would also add from OHMSS-
The PTS is the obvious reference to that one.
OHMSS-Bond gets involved in a romance with a countess who ends up killed by the villain. He and the countess spend their first evening knowing each other at a casino before they spend the night together. Bond gets kidnapped by the other most important man in her life, her father, who is a friendly gangster. Their first scene together involves the two of them battling a gangster's thugs on the beach. The friendly gangster helps Bond in the final battle atop a mountain fortress. Bond's skiing sequences in the film.
FYEO-Bond gets involved in a romance with a countess who ends up killed by the villain. He and the countess spend their first evening knowing each other at a casino before they spend the night together. Bond gets kidnapped by the other most important man in her life, her lover, who is a friendly gangster. Their final scene together involves the two of them battling a gangster's thugs on the beach. The friendly gangster helps Bond in the final battle atop a mountain fortress. Bond's skiing sequences in the film.
Of course, I fully concede that most Bond films made from 1970 onwards more or less recycle elements and plot devices from earlier films. Sometimes, they may even recycle them better. But let's not pretend FYEO was never "inspired" by these 3 earlier films.
Do i have a target on my back that says to the other members lets hate the film Cruiserweight supports? It sure seems like it sometimes.
Trust me, Cruiserweight. I would prefer FRWL, TB and OHMSS to FYEO regardless of what film anyone else here supports
