I know it's not Bond, but has anyone heard of novels written in the 60's featuring someone called 0008?!

I was doing a book search on AddALL and cames across an author, Clyde Allison, who wrote titles like From Rapture With Love and Gamefinger. One title in the search results lists a book titled Sadisto Royale: A 0008 Novel.

I can't help but think they are a parody of Bond and that they are pure pulp-fiction of a sleazy nature.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can anyone shed more light on this?

Marcinak's Place has a section devoted to the 0008 Books. That's really the only place I've seen more than a mention of the books.

Wow, what an interesting lot of books! I'd love to run a feature on them.

Does anyone else have any more information?

Wow! Thanks for the info, Mr.*!

I really like reading 60's spy fiction, but I've never come across these before.

I suppose that due to the US$5,000 price tag for the whole set, they were never easy to come by.

Anyway, I've added them to my ever-growing "want list" just in case I strike it rich in a secondhand bookshop. :)
