Can you believe it? It has nearly been one year since the release of Casino Royale, the 21st official James Bond movie. How do you all feel? Has your opinion changed over Casino Royale? Do you find it better or worse?

Could you remember all of the hype? :D, how excited we all were, and it didn't fail to dissapoint :P - well, for me anyway.... it still remains, to me, one of the best James Bond movies ever - just beating From Russia With Love and losing to [film=99]On Her Majesty

Wow, it has been a year since it came out. In my mind it has definitely stood the test of time so to speak. I get just as excited watching it on DVD now as I did when I saw it in the theater a year ago. And to think, in just another year or so Bond 22 will be out. I bet the years wait until then will go much slower! :D

I'll never forget attending the premiere in Leicester Square last year - nor the kindness of all the CBn chaps I met that night. :P

The film's still great, too. :D

Hmm I thought it was released on Nov.17? Or are you referring to the Royal premiere or something like that.

Either way, yes how time flies. I saw it at Mann's Chinese theatre in LA (a trip I haven't bothered to make for ANY other film). The atmosphere was electric, I vividly remember the words "PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC" appearing on screen and I kept thinking to myself OMG IT'S FINALLY HERE, I'M ACTUALLY WATCHING IT.

Anyhoo after leaving I instantly knew this was the best Bond movie of all time. I had a small worry that this was just 'first time seeing it' syndrome and the magic would fade away sooner or later. Well, a year later and it's still got it! I will have to give it an anniversary viewing on Sat. 17th this year.

Wow, a year already... time does fly. I skipped out of work early with a coworker to catch the earliest showing I could & then saw it again that same evening with a group of friends. Definitely a great day because both movie crowds were into it. More die hard fans in the early showing & a good mix of die hards & casual fans in the evening.

Looking back, I still like the movie. I don't think it's the greatest Bond movie ever but it is very strong. I need another movie or two to put it more in context with history.

One thing I do notice is that I usually skip the PTS & start the movie at chapter 3 when I am watching it alone. Without the gunbarrel opening, I don't miss the PTS. I like it but just find it easy to skip now.

Funny I was just thinking about this yesterday too. I think 2007 has felt like the quickest year of my life. As far as CR goes I still love it as much as I did on the day of Nov 17, 2006. I do need to watch it again though. It's been a while now.

Same here. My head was spinning and I could hardly concentrate. I was watching Casino Royale after such a long wait. One of the best experiences of my life.

I still love it; it's numero uno on my list, with OHMSS and FRWL immediately following. :D

Time flies!!!

Can you believe it's 2 years since Daniel was announced as the new 007 and a year since Casino Royale arrived - except here in Australia, we had to wait until December 7th, which was torture!!! I avoided CBn for those 3 weeks and then I left work early to watch it at the cinema in Chatswood.

Great stuff. Would have liked to have seen a traditional gunbarrel though. It felt really weird without it.

I was smiling during the entire film, I think. Except for the occassional tears. I cried four times in that movie.
1) Gunbarrel, Title Sequence
2) The bathroom scene with Vesper -- It meant a lot to me because we have only seen Bond so sensitive once, and that was in OHMSS. It was one of the best moments in the film, in my opinion.
3) Bond being tortured -- The screams that Daniel Craig let out where amazing, and made my body cringe.
4) Vesper dies at the end!

Seeing Casino Royale in theatres on November 17, 2006 was by far the BEST movie experience I have ever had! I hope to have a few more just like that with Bond 22 and beyond!

Time really does fly. I remember the week of the US release being simultaneously absolute hell and joy.

Hell because of an overload of exams and papers naturally during that one week (mostly for my evil Bio class), but joy because I knew Bond would be back on the big screen.

That was actually the start of an amazing weekend for me. I caught CR on opening night with one of my best friends in the world, and that Sunday I was the proud owner of a launch-day Nintendo Wii. And I still love both of them just as much now as I did then.

God Bless You, Casino Royale.

I was just thinking about this very thing the other day and how much excitement and anticipation was building a year ago at this time. It was a great time to be a Bond fan and just 300-some odd days until we get back to that excitement again. :P

Now it's kind of dull except for the little tidbits coming out about Bond 22. And that DVD monster box. :D

It's quiet, but there should be big news coming soon.
