Read this in the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet today. The article say that Rafael Edholm will make a screentest for Bond 22 as a bad guy.

Rafael kan bli ny Bondskurk

The headline says Rafael could be the new Bond bad guy. Will make a screentest in Hollywood.

True or not, I could definitely see Edholm as a Pied Noir. He has an interesting face which could work well for a villain or henchman.

Yeah why not, he looks pretty good. Though the first few people we hear about usually don't make it, I'm sure there are many others auditioning. It seems if this is the actor type they're looking at, its looking like a 'Bond's equal' style of villain like 006 or Grant

Yeah, I thought this news seemed familiar!

I'd have no complaints with this Rafael Edholm character being the villain (or, at least, one of the villains), although I'm yet to see any of his work.

Hmmm. Yeah, I can see him as a Bond villain. But am I alone in wanting someone a bit older, like a Goldfinger or Dr. No? Someone with a really unique face with lots of character, and a less generic body-type?

Edholm could be a good "No. 2" to such a characters "No. 1" in The Organization.

Looks very Bondian. Perhaps there is some truth to the Goran rumors.

I'm sure there will be a lot more rumours coming soon about the villian. Rafael looks like good potential though. Not sure if I see him as a main villian.

Perfectly possible, but I'd bear in mind that Aftonbladet is a tabloid, and has previously pritned some pretty dubious stories about Bond. For example:

http://www.aftonblad...rticle492189.ab

And perhaps more relevantly:

http://www.aftonblad...rticle252930.ab

Incidentally, Izabella Scorupco is all over the Swedish media right now with her new film, a Swedish-language thriller.

The pix I pulled up of him, all located in Google's image gallery, make him appear Latino. When I heard a "Swedish" actor, I thought we might be getting a blonde, blue-eyed, white actor. Interesting that they're screen testing a Swede to play what will probably be a Latino role.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not a dominant trait for Swedes to be blue-eyed blondes; a Swedish penpal of mine has dark hair and eyes and says that's a lot more prevalent among the Swedish population than most people outside of Sweden realize: Swedish people

Physically, Swedes are often stereotyped as being tall, beautiful and blonde; with strikingly fair complexions; long, thick, blond hair; green or blue eyes; and a generally elegant disposition. As with many stereotypes, this one is somewhat inaccurate; just under 50% of Swedes are naturally blonde with another 25% having light brown hair (which is a relatively high rate of blonde and light brown hair compared to the United States or other Germanic speaking countries such as England), plenty are not lean but not overweight, and the Lapps in the north of Sweden have dark hair and eye colour (though many would not consider them to be "ethnic Swedish").

It's possible Edholm's being tested to play the Algerian boyfriend, and *one* of the villains. However, I think they may go for a totally different physical type for the main villain; a total contrast with Mads Mikkelsen. I'm not sure Edholm's that, unless he undergoes a makeover.

Eduardo Noriega would make a terrific casting choice, IMO

Wonder how many villains we'll actually see in Bond 22.

I haven't actually added them up, but Casino Royale has to be the near the top pverall for having an abundance of minor bad guys (and girls).

A small secret militia with commanders in charge of them would be neat. Just like General Ouromov and his troops I guess, but more stealth oriented.
This organisation would have to have some sort of infantry you would expect.

Doubt if he'd suit Craig. :P

looks very Bondian. Hope he's only 2ft as he'll make Craig look shorter and less Bondian. :D

Sounds like a reasonably believable report of an audition.
