What's the story behind Blondie's FYEO theme? Was it meant to be used originally before they tried out another song before finally settling on Sheena Easton's version?

And if so, why was it dropped?

1. The producers contacted Blondie to sing the theme.
2. Blondie sketched out a song.
3. Producers says: "You misunderstand. We only want you to perform the song, not write it. You have to sing OUR song."
4. Blondie didn't take the job. They recorded a song a bit later on their next album.

Funny thing is, it was probably BETTER than Sheena Easton's! :D

Yeah. Alice Cooper and Blondie did a better job than Lulu and Sheena Easton, respectively.

If that's so, then why did EON go with the less-talented artists? :D

Sheena Easton's song is superior to Blondie's by a long shot. Blondie's actually samples FRWL. FYEO is at least an original love song that is well done. As for TMWTGG, neither one of them is very impressive, but Lulu's fits the film better.

Difficult to say since For Your Eyes Only is one of the higher charting Bond songs.

Then there's a choice between the THREE versions of Sheena's song. :D
