On tuesday i got back from a 2 week touring holiday of the west coast USA, visiting California, Nevada and Arizona. Whilst staying at the Stratosphere Casino and hotel who else should we spot but Pierce Brosnan? he gave us a casual nod, but a m8 of mine got a photo n autograph!! we could'nt spot keeley around anywhere, tho.

so you want me to spill the beans...soz, but the can is sadly empty!! YES the vanquish was parked outside, and v-e-r-y nice it was too. i was with a group of ppl we met on the tour, one said "isn't that pierce whats his name". i was like, "oh my God!!!!" i received the old nudge nudge as if to say "go on, go over and say hi" but by then, a small crowd was beginning to gather round so i just brushed past. he turned round n nodded at me, "hi" !!!!!! we got some stick for it once on the coach, and because we didn't get any photos our tour director found one from a magazine the following morning. i can scan that in for u, if u really want!!! thats it, my, erm, amazing encounter.

Perhaps I'll run in to him when I visit Ireland. Which Ireland does he live in, again? North, or South? (As a Bond fan, I should probably know this, but I'm not the one who divided the damned place! )

He's from The Republic Of Ireland. He's suppossed to be filming his next film this fall The Laws Of Attraction there, most likely in Dublin, so keep an eye out.

I know this is a little off topic but, I was wondering, what movies has Brosnan been working on besides bond? And are any coming out sometime soon? You seem to know about that MBE, fill me in?

I remember reading a little article in one of those stupid tabloids that comes in the Sunday paper (I was that bored) that said something about his lovely wife getting a bit pissed when she caught him giving a somewhat...intimate massage to a female costar in his upcoming film "Evelyn", so that's the only one I can think of.

Of course...MBE probably knows of at least 2 more. (She and Xenobia both seem to know everything possible about him.)

Before he began shooting Bond he did Evelyn (which he produced via his Irish Dreamtime Company, which also did TCA & The Nephew) last fall. It stars Julianna Marguilies, Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn, and Alan Bates, directed by Bruce Bersford (Driving Miss Daiy, Breaker Morant, Tender Mecies, Double Jepardy, and Mister Johnson with PB) . It's a small budget film done under the UA division of MGM and will open in limited release in the U.S. Dec 6th. It's going to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month, and then at the Chicago Film Festival the month after. It has international distribution in most countries but only the U.S. has an opening date so far. Oh it's a true story set in 1950's Ireland about a father fighting the Catholic Church & Irish Gov't to regain custody of his children from the notorious Industrial schools (where Brosnan spent part of his childhood as well).

Laws Of Attraction is a romantic comedy (also produced by IDT) and is set to start in the fall but no cast has been set yet besides PB.

Other films on the docket, or at least used to be, are Larceny for Lovers (con artists who fall in love) and The Day After Tomorrow (a thriller based on the novel that's suppossed to be directed by Roger Donaldson) that's been pushed back a couple of times for re-writes and the threatened writers strike last year. And now another big sci-fi film has the same title, so who knows when it will be made or under what title.
