Tear ~ Red Hot Chili Peppers
This is my time
This is my tear
I can see clearly now
That this is not a place
For playing solitaire
Tell me where you want me
This is my time
This is my tear
Comin' on strong
Baudelaire
Seems to me like
All the world gets high
When you take a dare
Let it rise before you
This is my crime
All in all and I'm
Loving every rise and fall
The sun will make and I will take
Breath to be sure of this
In the end and then
All will be forgiven when
Surrender rises high and I
Gave what I came to give
Say it now because you never know
Devil may cry, devil may care
Distiller's got a scream
And now I know just why
When she's movin' air
Can you feel the voltage
This is my time
California skies
Got room to spare
This is my time
All in all and I'm
Loving every rise and fall
The sun will make and I will take
Breath to be sure of this
In the end and then
All will be forgiven when
Surrender rises high and I
Gave what I came to give
Say it now because you never know
Oh, never know
Take it outside
Take it out there
Seems to me like
All the world gets high
When you take a dare
In the final moment
This is my time
All in all and I'm
Loving every rise and fall
The sun will make and I will take
Breath to be sure of this
In the end and then
All will be forgiven when
Surrender rises high and I
Gave what I came to give
Say it now because you never know
oh, never know

If Devil May Care is ever made into a film, "Tear" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers would be a good title song for it.

It's funny that I talked about a theme song for Devil May Care way before Penguin's MySpace competition.
Anybody else know of an existing song that would be a good theme tune for Devil May Care?

Great find, never noticed the dmc-line altough the CD had captured my player for a considerable time.
If one doesn't necessarily insist on the actual title 'devil may care' in the lyrics (which of course is the sole reason behind this publicity-stunt) I'd suggest Goldfrapp's 'Little Death' (unreleased live b-side from felt mountain), a really stunning attempt that unfortunately didn't make it to the final album (and that I find considerably better than the entries on the official competition IMHO).
Lyrics are:
Don't let this love
Own me completely
You know how love does sometimes
Black satin tears
Rule the night
Just to be
But you'll never here to dream
You're blind
But your blind as always
If I confess
Will it break the spell
My mind is full of you that
