The mysterious Mr White returns for the next 007 film

This was on the "other" Bond website

Danish actor Jesper Christensen who appeared as Mr White - the shadowy boss of Le Chiffre - in Casino Royale has confirmed he will reprise his role in the upcoming 22nd James Bond film.

Speaking to TV2 in Denmark, Christensen said he only recently learned he would be returing, and that his character would endure 007's interrogation methods at the beginning of the film.

Christensen is currently in England shooting "Young Victoria".

Its good that they are keeping this sense of continuity in the series now.

That is interesting, and this will no doubt fuel the fire of the fanboy rumor that the PTS will continue directly from the end of CR after we hear the words "The name's Bond, James Bond" (confirming Paul Haggis' "it starts two minutes after CR"). Personally I don't want to see that happen, that scene ended perfectly as it is. He does seem to hint here that he will only appear at the beginning of the film, and thus we can assume he'll die early on.
My PTS would be to have White held prisoner and undergoing interrogation at MI6; terrorists storm the building and a massive firefight ensues. Bond kills White himself so the terrorists can't get him back. This will anger M initially, but she will soon realize that Bond was right to do so. White will have left them exactly one lead to follow up on; "A connection in Palio, Italy..." :cooltongue:

"Bond's interrogation methods"?

Maybe he'll have learned a trick or two from Le Chiffre? :cooltongue:

Good character, decent villain, still alive. Why not include him again! Plus it will allow Bond to be ruthless. All good stuff.

A helicopter full of men laying cover fire while he is stretchered off maybe. It would be very interesting to see White report to his superior, and how failure is dealt with.

It's great that Mr. White is back but I hope the movie doesn't start exactly where CR ended. I don't want to see Bond driving Mr. White to the hospital to get that gunshot all fixed-up (unless he is driving the ambulance at really high speeds & interrogating him on the way) :cooltongue: .

Your quip reminds me of an idea I heard before (probably on these boards). It would be pretty cool if the his real name wasn't Mr. White, but instead a color scheme has replaced SPECTRE's numbering scheme for identifying the Organization's agents.

Perhaps, if the film's pre-titles begins by carrying on directly from the events of CR and recaps them slightly, we'll see Bond firing his kneecap shot at Mr White... from within a gunbarrel... :cooltongue:

Looking forward to seeing Bond's "interrogation methods".

I imagine there will be very little "chit chat".

This interrogation is going to get nasty, I'm sure of it. It'll be quite the dark note to start off BOND 22.

That would be my prediction as well. It will be the PTS. So, in that sense, we'll be getting the same taste we got in Casino Royale.

My prediction?

Pain.

I do hope they don't get fancy with the gunbarrel though. Back to basics, please. Of course it's impossible to judge that which I haven't seen yet, but I can't imagine what they might do outside of the standard that would impress/excite me.

Hey Harmsway, are you privy to any bits and pieces of the script?

I'm sure a fair amount of the story has been fleshed out by now given that we're about 3-4 months away from principal photography (a tiney bit MIGHT have been done in Siena already) and it's around about this juncture that they would have storyboards cooking away with even set construction somewhere at the begining of it's pipeline.

The above is mere extrapolation judging from past Bond pre-production schedulling I imagine.

Wasnt it about September~ish of 05 when you and a couple of others here had some sort of insight into the CR script?

It would be too Kool if you were to provide us with some nice little tidbits like last time, Harmsway!

:cooltongue:

Hey Harmsway, are you privy to any bits and pieces of the script?

I'm not. If I can get my hands on the script, I will, but no guarantees. I don't have a source in EON or Sony or anything like that. I got the script from a member of this board, if I remember correctly, and was able to deliver insights from that.

But that said, I have picked up some new friends in the movie scoops biz since then, and maybe they'll be able to pass the BOND 22 script on to me if it leaks to them first. It's a big "if," though. If not I, I hope someone else gets ahold of it.

Oh I don't; I don't think we have to know the entire story before we see it; what's the point in that?

I figured he'd be back, but it's good to have it confirmed. Looks like we're getting some great continuity in the series. :cooltongue:
