Perhaps he meant that "He's been recognised as the greatest ever, and deservedly so." Bless him.

Craig has made his stamp.

But aren't we all a bid fed up of the ex-Bond's going over the top about Craig? Can't we just once have, say, Tim Dalton coming out with, "Well, he was okay. Made a serious attempt at interpeting the character. But I thought I nailed Fleming far more accurately in Licence to Kill and I actually LOOKED like the character Fleming wrote about. That's something Daniel will never achieve."
Anybody heard George Lazenby's opinion, though? He's never slow to bash a fellow Bond.

Good for you for being so noble, Pierce.

LOL! Or Moore saying: "Craig was excellent, but fell down a bit on the humour front. I wish I'd been there to show him how to relax in some scenes and make the audience laugh more."
Seriously, though, you make a good point: Brosnan's comments - while appreciated and all very nice and everything - really say nothing at all, and do not even suggest that he has seen CASINO ROYALE.

'Gorgeous Pierce drugged and forced at gunpoint to support Craig!' perhaps?

The anti Craig brigade are as alive as Vesper argument wise now.

How will the wags at danielcraigisnotbond.com handle this though?
'Gorgeous Pierce drugged and forced at gunpoint to support Craig!' perhaps?
I swear I had forgotten all about that website until reading this post. Why do we continue to talk about them, mention them, etc...?
As for Brosnan's comments...I think they're a load of steaming hot dog squeeze. He acted like a baby whose mommy had taken away his lollipop. He pitched a very public and huge temper tantrum for months on end, and now he wants to act all magnanimous and contrite? In social psychological terms, it's referred to as FALSE MODESTY.
So, what does he do if he actually likes Craig?? Perhaps, give him a compliment like this?

But this is the reason that Roger never commented about Timothy films - you're a sore loser if you point out any faults and you're just towing the party line if you praise.
Because of the avalanche of praise Craig has gotten, anything short of a glowing endorsement would be seen as sour grapes.
It was gracious of Pierce, but I too doubt that it's sincere.

So far one can only say CR is one of the best James Bond movies ever and one of the top three action/adventure movies of the decade.

If I was a betting man, I'd be willing to bet that close to 100% of all people have acted like a big baby or just plain immature at one point or another in their adult life. If we don't think we have, our friends or family probably would say otherwise. So what if he acted like a baby for losing a once in a lifetime roll and several million dollars? I imagine there would be plenty of people on this discussion list who would cry if they got or lost the roll of Bond - especially if they were sort of "dropped" from the roll when they were expecting to return for one more. Both sides could have probably handled the situation better. Personally, I would have liked to see Brosnan back in one more outing - and this time in a well-written non-over-the-top Bond in 2004, with Craig as Bond in CR in 2006.
But that's not going to happen, and I'm happy with Craig as Bond.
If a person ever messes up and acts like a baby, is it so impossible to ever expect them to be sorry about that and want to move on? Would you want people to give you the benefit of the doubt?
OK, maybe he's being fake, but maybe he wants to move on, or is trying to present things in a positive light (true, with a bit of spin) - and maybe, just MAYBE he does think Craig is great in the roll.
Thoughts anyone?

Roger made it a point not to see Dalton's two Bonds because he said that he knew he'd be asked what he thought. He said that he would have hated to answer if he didn't like the performances, because he has a habit of saying what he really thinks. I think Rog took the right approach on that issue.
To be honest, I always get the feeling that these the kind of films Roger would watch out of his own choice, but they were fun to make and he had a lot of friends with him. Not to say that he didn't take it seriously when doing it, just that I don't think a spy adventure film would be the thing that he would want to watch on a sunday evening.

God the guy can't even say something positive without being put down some kind of way. If you like Craig and hate Brosnan fine, but don't go picking on every little thing Brosnan has to say or any other actor that has played Bond just because Craig is good. For me I liked CR and Craig, but I'm not crazy about him nor do I think he's the best Bond so far. I have to see what's next on the table for Bond while Craig is playing the role.
Even though I think this I don't go around this forum bashing him. I'm sick of that .
