CzechTourism (an official travel site of the Czech Republic) offers a nice guide to the czech locations shot in CR :

Interesting for instance to know that the stairway of the venitian hotel is the one of the Prague National Museum :-)

If you have any other tourist info about locations in CR, please share here.

Black Park, near Slough, England, features as Uganda in the first scene after the titles sequence in Casino Royale.

Here is more info on Black Park. It was also used in Goldfinger.

Lots of tourist information can be found through the excellent On the Tracks of 007 website. They have a comprehensive list of locations used in CASINO ROYALE which I was able to contribute some information to.

If you happen to be in the Czech Republic on a "Bond location" trip, and your funds are limited, I'd recommend staying in Sokolov at the Park Hotel. It's a 15 min. bus ride to Loket, and a 30 min. bus ride from Karlovy Vary--and rooms are considerably cheaper than the Hotel Splendide (Pupp)!

While in Loket, I recommend the castle tour, and in Karlovy Vary don't forget to try some of the awful-tasting water (purported to have healing powers for all manner of ailments).

I can't say enough good things about the Czech Republic. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, and reasonable prices. What's not to like?

Mmmmmh... The food ? ;-) Just kidding (and the local beer saves the day, whatever) !
Anyway, as Bond said in Risico - if I remember well - the rolls and butter are only good in France and Italy ;-)

Good point. I recommend two drafts of Pilsner Urquell prior to every meal, including breakfast.

I've been to Venice, London and Black Park, plus the Caribbean. Plus I've spent some time in Eastern Europe, so there was nothing too unusual for me in CR. All lovely places though, highly recommended. :cooltongue:

Yet somehow they still made it all seem very exotic. I think it gets harder for the Bond producers to make places look exotic with the amount of world-travel the average person does these days!
